Master storytellers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz ("Lost," "Tron: Legacy") invite everyone to join Emma Swan, Snow White, Prince Charming, Rumplestiltskin, Hook and the Evil Queen Regina as they travel through a portal on the Jolly Roger in an effort to reach Neverland and rescue Henry.
Welcome to Storybrooke, Maine, a small town that probably won't show up on your GPS, but it's a magical place to visit. Reality and myth merged after Emma broke Regina's curse, which had deprived the fairytale characters of their memories and trapped them in our modern world. When they finally regained their identities, our heroes were dismayed to discover that they weren't transported back to Fairy Tale Land. To make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin - aka Mr. Gold - decided to escalate his power struggle with Regina by introducing magic into the town. But this is our world, and magic always has a tendency to yield unfathomable consequences.

And they all lived happily ever after... Hardly!
All is not well back in the Enchanted Forest when Hook comes calling on Emma in New York City in an attempt to jog her memory so that she can once again help her fairy tale family and friends out of a desperate situation. Everyone she holds dear is in danger as a new foe emerges - the Wicked Witch of the West (Rebecca Mader, "Lost"). Hook now must enlist Emma in an epic struggle that spans worlds: with the highest stakes possible - the fate of her family. No one remembers how they were transported back or the past year they had spent back in Fairy Tale Land. But someone in town is responsible for this curse, and all clues point to the Wicked Witch of the West, whose agenda in our world is a mystery. In an attempt to break the curse, new fairytale characters will be revealed and old acquaintances will be revisited. But not everyone can be trusted.X

Where We Left Off: In order to save Storybrooke, Regina let Henry destroy the town, sending everyone back to where they came from. But Emma and Henry, whose memories were changed to believe they've always been together, now reside in New York, where, one year after the curse consumed the town, Hook arrived at their door to enlist them for help because Emma's parents are in trouble.
What's Next: Regina and Robin Hood's potential future will be explored in the Enchanted Forest. Pinocchio, Phillip and Aurora will return, more of Emma's past will be revealed, and more worlds will be introduced, including possibly Oz, home of Rebecca Mader's mystery character, the Wicked Witch of the West. Plus: Christopher Gorham will play a mysterious character connected to Emma and Rapunzel.
Get ready for some big reveals when ABC's Once Upon a Time returns on March 9. Executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz preview what's brewing in Fairy Tale Land, Storybrooke and Oz.
- The Wicked Witch of the West (Lost's Rebecca Mader) lands in Storybrooke on the March 9 episode. She shares ties to two familiar characters. Viewers will learn what turned her green and will eventually meet the Wizard. "There might be some other surprises along the yellow brick road," Kitsis says. "We're setting up the fight of all fights: Evil Queen versus Wicked Witch!"
- The March 9 episode will also incorporate the fact that real-life couple Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas (Snow and Charming) are expecting a child. The baby will have a connection to the impending progeny of Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillip, though producers promise there won't be a soap opera-like baby switch.
- Emma will encounter a mysterious stranger in New York City (Covert Affairs' Christopher Gorham); Charming will come to the rescue of Rapunzel (Alexandra Metz) atop a tower; and Belle will meet her French candlestick pal, Lumiere (True Blood's Henri Lubatti).
TVLine Exclusive Bombshell: A Death Is Coming
Series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis tell TVLine exclusively that the fantastical series will be killing off a major character during the second batch of 11 episodes (launching March 9), resulting in the exit of a series regular. “The character dies, for real,” Kitsis makes clear — at which point his/her portrayer will, make no mistake, leave the show.
Every series regular cast member is a possibility – except for Robert Carlyle. The EPs have agreed to rule out that one candidate, seeing as Rumplestiltskin is theoretically already “gone” (having sacrificed himself in the name of vanquishing Peter Pan).

An Episode 18 flashback will introduce us to Prince Leopold aka the man who will one day be Snow White’s father. The younger Leo is described as grounded, humble and not afraid to open his heart, coveting more from marriage than just a political arrangement. This can’t bode well for our resident swashbuckler: As we speak, the show is casting the one-episode role of Blackbeard, a cut-throat pirate if there ever was one.
How different is this Emma from the one we've known? Kitsis: It was an important thing. Emma, as a character, we love her. She has some new memories, but that didn't ruin her upbringing. She still grew up tough, she still grew up with a wall. It was her against the world and what we'll see is with these new memories it's now her and Henry against the world. She still is the same person, but we're going to really explore what her life is like in Episode 12 called "New York City Serenade." Source
Do the fairy tale characters sent back to the Enchanted Forest still have their memories of Storybrooke? Kitsis: Yes. They know and that gets explored. Horowitz: As we laid out in the winter finale, Emma was the one who being back there was going to lose those memories and have this new life. The fairy tale characters get left with the pain and knowledge of what happened over the years that the show has been on and what they've been through. None of that is erased. Source

NATALIE: As of two weeks ago when I was on set, Lana Parrilla told me nothing had come up in scripts between the two of them, but she expected it to happen toward the end of the season — though it might not be as easy as we'd all hope. "She's closed her heart off to any romance," Parrilla says. "She doesn't look at anyone with lust or desire. But I do hope that Regina opens her heart again to love. It's been many, many years. NATALIE: Now that Neal has discovered the truth about his lineage, it will open the door for father and son to finally have a relationship. "It provides an opportunity for Neal to see his father as someone who carried a burden for hundreds of years because he was hurt or embarrassed about Pan being his father," Michael Raymond-James says. "It really allows him to see his dad in a new light. That's a revelatory moment for Neal." Source
Question: Can you offer up any clues on the location/setting for the second half of Once Upon a Time Season 3 (premiering March 9)? Will it take place entirely in Storybrooke, or will there be trips to another never-before-seen world? — abz
Ausiello: Better than clues, we have cold, hard facts. More akin to Season 1′s storytelling, “The second half [of Season 3] will take place between Storybrooke and the Enchanted Forest,” series cocreator Eddy Kitsis told Matt Mitovich. In other words, EP Adam Horowitz underscored, “It’s not a ‘journey to another land’ paradigm” à la the Neverland arc concluding Dec. 15. “We always have the ability and the desire to dip into other lands, which it’s more than likely we shall do,” Horowitz added, “but it will be in the way that we’ve done it in the past, as opposed to locking all of our characters onto a boat and sending them [to a new realm].” Source

I brought your Q to the boys, and Horowitz assures the Rumbelle fans, “In the second half of the season, they are going to be in the same world for an extended period of time.” But Kitsis then chimed in: “If you’re a fan of Rumbelle, the second half of the season will further explore their relationship – in whatever state that is.” :-O Source
Monica: So excited for Rebecca Mader on Once Upon a Time! Can you spill anything on what she's playing?
She's one of the best female villians of all time, and not just in recent Disney history. This one even has her own theme music! Also, we can tell you that she is being brought in because now that Rumple and Regina have made peace, the writers felt they needed a new Big Bad and Mader's character will definitely be at odds with Regina. We will hopefully have your very first look at Mader's character (the new villain) on the night of Dec. 15 on E! Online, right after the episode of Once Upon a Time ends, so make sure you check back! As you may recall from the midseason finale, one year has passed since Storybrooke disappeared. Emma and Henry are living happily in New York, when Captain Hook shows up to ruin their easy life. What happens next?
1. In the first 15 minutes of the episode, the following things occur: A picnic, note-passing, purple smoke, mention of Pompeii, and two offers that Emma doesn't really know how to refuse.
2. Home life for the Swans includes video games, eggs and plaid pants that are not our favorite fashion choice.
3. This amazing Captain Hook line is voiced: "They force-fed me something called bologna."
4. If you are ever in New York City, do not consume inexplicable substances handed to you by strange men. Or actually, don't ever do that.
5. It's possible to hijack magic spells. Possible side effects of this include a propensity to quote Goldilocks out of context.
"In her Storybrooke form, the witch “is seemingly a kindred spirit to Snow White, which is part of what makes her so evil,” Ginnifer Goodwin explained during TVLine’s visit to the show’s Vancouver set last week. “She seems so genuinely kind and has a way of becoming intimate with others and making them trust her…. Rebecca Mader called her ‘Mary Poppins,’ because she was just so damn likeable!”
Goodwin credits Mader for that wicked wrinkle, explaining how the Lost alum tweaked her Storybrooke persona while rehearsing her first such scene. “She wanted her to be manipulative and conniving, something of an investigator,” Goodwin relates. “But then she realized, ‘No, what would actually be wicked would be to match Snow’s sweetness and really seem like someone cut from the same cloth.’”
So good is Mader at being so bad, Goodwin said with a laugh that she and others will at times witness a scene and find themselves wondering, “Is it bad that in some respects we want her to win?!”
1 | Emma and Henry have made a very nice life for themselves in NYC, complete with a snazzy new wardrobe for the bail bondswoman. Also, Chris Gorham’s (Covert Affairs) character is a very big part of their world.
2 | Hook is relentless in his quest to make Emma believe the fantastical truth, and he’s got a couple of tricks up his leather sleeve to help him convince her of her origins. There’s also much comedy to be found in his (mis)adventures in the city.
3 | Flashbacks to one year ago reveal how the denizens of Storybrooke landed in a very convenient place once back in the Enchanted Forest, where they ran into multiple familiar faces — some of whom withhold a huge secret.
4 | Everyone will stick together in their travels in the Enchanted Forest — except for one character who forges out on his/her own.
5 | Someone gets locked up.
6 | Regina takes drastic measures to deal with the pain of missing Henry — while Snow White tries to play wingman for her frenemy.
7 | This line will make you LOL: “He smells of forest.”
8 | Belle has a plan….
9 | Multiple pieces of Once Upon a Time iconography make a triumphant return.
10 | There will be “monkey” business. And suffice to say, these winged primates have more (and scarier) “teeth” to ‘em than Margaret Hamilton’s ever did.
“A sweet life in Manhattan: Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Henry (Jared Gilmore) have settled into their lives in the Big Apple rather comfortably, but Hook’s (Colin O’Donoghue) sudden re-entry into their lives — though they aren’t aware of the past history — puts a wrench in their plans. Covert Affairs’ Christopher Gorham plays an integral part in Emma and Henry’s story and serves as a catalyst of sorts. (Fun fact: Gorham, Kitsis and Horowitz worked together on The WB’s Popular.)
Hook goes up against another foe: In an upcoming episode, Hook will meet yet another nemesis, this time in Blackbeard (Charles Mesure). “He is a pirate through and through and he and Captain Hook do not have a love for each other, and the only thing two pirates will fight over — even more than a woman — would be a ship,” Kitsis hints.”
• Viewers will see what happens in the minutes leading up to (and immediately after) the former Storybrooke residents arrive in the Enchanted Forest. It doesn’t take long for them to run into familiar faces…and not everyone wants to stay with the group.
• Hook might not have gotten the response he wanted from Emma post-kiss, but that isn’t the only trick he has up his sleeve to get her to recall her true past.
• Viewers will first meet Chris Gorham’s Walsh in the midseason premiere, but he’s already a solid presence in the lives of several characters we know.
• The Wicked Witch (whose name is Zelena, the producers shared) isn’t the focus of the hour, but she does have a pretty delicious introduction.
• Regina goes to extreme measures to deal with her grief over losing Henry.
• Belle and Neal have an important exchange about Rumple. Snow, Charming, and Neal also share a moment over losing Emma and Henry.
• Henry is a little matchmaker.
• While the flashbacks in the episode are purely about what’s going on in Fairy Tale Land, we do learn a little bit about Emma and Henry’s new life from their comments.
• Robin Hood sure knows how to make an entrance…
Question: I see your colleague Matt Mitovich visited the Once Upon a Time set. Did he get anything on Neal? —Viviane
Ausiello: He most certainly did. The good news is that Neal is resolved to reunite with Emma, some way, somehow. The bad news is that his baby momma’s parents don’t immediately agree with his agenda, since they know that Emma is now living in NYC, partially oblivious yet unarguably happy with son Henry. As Josh Dallas explained to MM on the set, “When we get back to fairytale land, Neal is determined to go find Emma, but Charming and Snow just want their daughter to be happy. So they try to say, ‘Look, this is where we live now. This is what we have and that [other realm] is where she and Henry are. We have to let them go.’” But will Neal listen?
Question: In Episode 2.05 of Once Upon A Time, “The Doctor,” there is a scene with young Regina, Rumple and Jefferson at his castle. When Rumple mentions something about the “ruby slippers,” the camera focuses on Regina’s face and she appears nervous and drops something on the table, indicating that the mention of the ruby slippers had some effect on her. Was that on purpose? Is Regina somehow connected to OZ or the footwear in question? —Ana
Ausiello: First off, the slippers you refer to “probably won’t be ruby,” exec producer Eddie Kitsis reveals. Adds fellow EP Adam Horowitz: “The ruby slippers may have been a false road because, in the books, they were silver slippers.” And Once will be “sticking to the book for legal reasons,” confirms Kitsis. Now, back to your actual question regarding Regina’s connection to OZ, I have no clue. But at least I cleared up the ruby confusion! That’s gotta be worth something!
At the end of Once Upon a Time’s midseason finale, why did Emma end up in New York City, Neal’s recent home, rather than Boston, her most recent place of residence outside of Storybrooke? –R.T.

Captain Swan New York City Serenade SPOILERS
[...]"One of the media people told me that Emma will not regain her memories until the end of the episode. There’s a lot of things hook does in order to get Emma to remember. Including giving her Neal’s address. As we know this is the dream catcher sequence in the promo so I went a tad deeper and asked does this get Emma’s memories back and two of them said no.
As we can all tell what gets Emma’s memories back is the potion once she drinks it 4 people have confirmed this that I talked to. I’m also a close friend with…. and…confirmed this as well.
The dream catcher sequence is what makes her start questioning herself HOWEVER Emma being Emma still is hesitant and then she goes to Central Park and well I’m sure we know what happens next.
I asked one more question to two of them. I asked whom exactly does Henry matchmaker for and they said henry is the one that plays a key role in the hook and Emma hug scene. What I think that means is after she arrests hook which happens at Central Park her and Henry chat about everything and he convinces her to release hook and listen to him.”
"This is everything I know about the OUAT filming today (Jan 23)
People who were present are Snow, Charming, Emma, Belle, Rumple, Wicked Witch, Granny, Dwarves, and Tink
They are filming 3x16, I believe. But I’m not sure because I forgot to ask.
They are doing a night shoot from 4pm to 4am. I did not stay the whole time and only saw one scene.
In the scene I saw, there was a huge group of people standing in the middle of Storybrooke looking very nervous and worried (see image above. Sorry for quality, it was dark and I only had my phone)
There was fake fog.
Tink, Emma, Belle, Snow, and Charming walk up to the group and push through to the middle.
Charming tries to calm everyone down and says "Listen up guys, you all need to get out of here!"
The Wicked Witch appears and says "No one’s going anywhere."
The group parts like the Red Sea for her, haha!
Rumple is behind her, but he doesn’t say anything. Or I couldn’t hear him.
They talk, I couldn’t hear.

When they were coming for rehearsals, Emilie had her arm looped with Bobby and they were talking and laughing and they are so cute!
During rehearsals, JMo, Rose, and Josh were off to the side and JMo suddenly laughed really loudly. I wish I heard what they were talking about!
Just before the first take, I guess Josh was really cold after taking off his huge jacket, because he suddenly ran over to a bike rack and jumped on the bike and pretended to pedal really hard. And then he ran back to his mark. Haha!
JMo was wearing the same beanstalk outfit from yesterday, but today with a black toque (for all you non-Canadians out there, it’s basically a beanie)
Tink was wearing the same modern clothes outfit as yesterday
Rebecca wasn’t green but she was wearing a witch costume
Favorites like the Huntsman (Jamie Dornan, cast in "50 Shades of Grey") and Red Riding Hood (Megan Ory, now on CBS' "Intelligence") have moved on, and now Mulan (Jamie Chung, starting on NBC's "Believe") will be scaling back. Kitsis and Horowitz say they always keep "an open-door policy. We wish all of them well." Mulan in particular should be returning a few times this season.
It wouldn't be "Once Upon a Time" if new characters were not introduced, though, and a weird Rapunzelle (Alexandra Metz), a dashing Lumiere (Henri Lubatti) and the pirate's pirate Blackbeard will be just some of the story book blending that will be occurring this season.

In the last couple of months, we have heard Megan talk a lot about wanting to come back and Jamie saying outright she doesn't think she'll be back because she doesn't have time with her new show and film career. Plus she's filming her new NBC show now - last week she tweeted a picture from the set.
Not sure how given that she is still working on her show and Once is on Ep19, Mulan is going to return "a few times" on Once this season.
I think this storyline was a casualty of the NVL storyline taking over when Eddy and Adam got the rights so as a result it was never fully explained.
But who knows...maybe it will be used to explain a way for Belle to get Rumple back.

Yeah I dont trust la times seems like they just copy and pasted what a source whom saw the episode did. There once articles always are just a copy and paste of someone whom wrote a legit one.

It confused me too which is why I highlighted it. Either Jamie secretly filmed EF scenes or this way off base. Not sure which.
