One thing that I find fascinating is how an entire back history and subculture has evolved from these movies. The books, websites, and video games explore characters and stories that we never saw, and probably never will see, on screen, and I find that very interesting. For example, this website told me a lot more about Palpatine than I ever knew, and there are characters like Darth Nihilus that never were in any of the movies. I just wonder where it all comes from.

Can anyone rec me some books as a starting place? I've read a few about Han/Leia already but other then that not sure where to start. Is there anything that Lando has a big part in that is placed after the movies? It's really overwhelming since there are so many books.

Most of us aren't very much into the books. When Steph (BehrItAll) comes back she may be able to give you some advice on them. The classic expanded universe starting point is the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn, but it doesn't have an especially large amount of Lando.

Thank you, I just realized there where threads before this( not sure how I missed that) so I'm off to skim those to see what books people liked the best and I'm going to start from there.

I think the best place would be the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn and then go from there in chronological order since some books reference events in the timeline past.
But also it depends in which era you are most interested in. (Example: Knight of the Old Republic, Clone Wars, Post-RotJ.) Basically the way I would go about it is whichever era you choose, read them in the order of the Star Wars timeline. Even if they were not published in that order. And if a book's story doesn't spark your interest, it's ok to skip it. I skipped a few and it was no big loss.

As for Lando, unfortunately he does not get a big role in the post-RotJ novels. In most he is not mentioned at all.
He is a pretty good supporting character in the Thrawn Trilogy, from what I remember.

Lando does make an appearance in the prequel books: The Han Solo Trilogy by A.C. Crispin (The Paradise Snare, The Hutt Gambit, and Rebel Dawn).

I never read The Lando Calrissian Adventures by L. Neil Smith, so I cannot comment on their quality.

I have yet to read this one, Star Wars: Scoundrels by Timothy Zahn but Lando is on the cover, so I assume he has a large role. But it is a prequel to the films.

I hope that helps.
