Ok, 5.1 has Center, Left and Right Front, Left and Right Rear. 7.1 has Center, Left and Right Front, Left and Right Mid and Left and Right Rear. Theoretically, there's a 6.1 which utilizes the Left and Right Rear to create a phantom Rear Center Channel. __________________

okay, first I understand what people are talking about and then it's like numbers and letters and I'm all
 I guess,it's just me...  but anyhew, I got my dvd set like a week ago, I've watched a lot of the extra goodies but I have yet to watch the movies themselves... But the extras were pretty good and interesting...I especially loved the part of Empire of Dreams were they showed all that stuff about making Yoda... that was so cool! __________________

It takes some work, and really needs good acoustics in the room, as well as decent speakers and a receiver.

I bet you also need a good TV. My TV is not a very good one, so I figure, when my time comes to build a "system" I'll start with a good TV
