Even some blu rays look terrible on my tv, though. Depends on the setup. Anything less than 4K on my set up looks like garbage.

That said, you are right, DVDs did outsell blu ray. Saturation in the market for those sales are kids themed movies. DVD outsells 4K, too. Maybe they'll be a comeback like vinyl records. Hell, I've even seen some cassettes lately like the new Metallica album came out on cassette.
I'm surprised to hear that DVD is supposedly outselling all these other things. I've always been a physical media person so I still get them, but I started getting Blu Rays cause they stopped putting any extra bonus features on DVD. You just get the movie and nothing else (but in general, it's still a downgrade cause when they first released DVDs they gave you HOURS of special features. Now it's a miracle if they go beyond 30 minutes or an hour) in general, I always found it ridiculous for some to blow off physical media and act like it doesn't matter, everyone doesn't watch streaming. I still get CDs too, and find it backwards how they act like CDs are outdated by vinyl records (that are much older) aren't. WTF? I don't have a record player, so I'm not getting vinyl records lol.

As for the other thing, I think we just recently talked about these films being overbudgeted and it's almost impossible for them to make their money back or whatever. So that was an issue like it is for many films, but TLM still didn't bomb so that was just my ultimate point. It was #1 it's opening weekend and made a lot of money after that. I also think the Disney+ and blu ray release will help it too, especially when most of the reviews for it were positive.

I didn't know there was one from 1975. I'll definitely check that out.

And I'd rather own CDs, too, because it's easier to manage. I just sold off my record collection, it's so expensive. I had a 600 dollar player, then you need components to set it up AND good speakers. And I used to be a TV and Audio salesperson of like HIGH end stuff, so my standards are so high. I'm never happy with how vinyl sounds. But like y'all said, you wanna support physical media. I am a Spotify listener, probably in the top 5%, too, I average 300,000 minutes streamed on Spotify a year haha. Something about vinyl just warms my heart. My wife will step in and yell at me. I spent like 3 grand on vinyl and never listened to them, lol.

Yeah. I think that 1975 film is Japanese & the mermaid is blonde I understand in it.

It is I suppose. I have not been to a movie theatre in so long that I just do not worry so much about box office numbers much these days, but most Disney films I think do well in in theatres.
