Cosima is quite taken by Delphine ... This is her life, this is her heart, this is a person who could be quite important to her.

I think Cosima is kind of surprised by her feelings for Delphine. It's the kind of attraction, and need, that blinds her ... Her attraction and feelings are undeniable to her, even though it might be dangerous.

Their relationship is really something I connect to quite deeply because of the sort of the imperfection of it and the betrayal in it and it -- it just feels very real to have fallen for somebody who you knew kind of the whole time would be the wrong person to fall for. I feel like that’s quite a human thing and it was written quite beautifully.

Cosima's so focused on her work that it can get quite insular and she can get quite lonely and have a one-track mind. When she meets Delphine, her world blows up and she doesn't know how to even deal with the emotions she's feeling and how much she wants Delphine.

They're on opposite ends of the equation, sort of like Romeo and Juliet. There remains tension between them, but ultimately they love each other.

She made some really clear symbolic moves. I mean, at the end of S1 she travels and goes on Cosima's side ... that's a true act of love and it's a true act of solidarity.

Delphine is a passionate girl when it comes to science and Cosima.

There is definitely a really intense passion and love between those two characters ... It's so many things at once. It's lovers, it's co-workers, eventually there is going to be a patient/doctor relationship. Experiment/scientist. It's so much, you know. It makes it so rich.

Well, I've just finished watching season three and it's somewhat better than I remember it, though some things still leave a bad taste! Knowing how the show ends does put a different perspective on season three though. Episode 10 is a scorcher with some great moments, esp Cosima interaction with Kendal and I'd forgotten all about the worm thing.

I've been reading thorough the old posts on this thread. Some interesting stuff, it got me watching season one again, but the binary has me completely stumped.

s3 would be less awful, imho, if shay and the castors never existed. i liked other stuff in that season, but the shay/military aspect was just a waste of time, especially since it went absolutely nowhere.

Honestly, though, that doesn't bother me because, imo, the monitors were always supposed to make us suspicious, only EBro was the only one who could actually play that, therefore the only character (of the three monitors we knew) that remained consistent throughout the seasons.

I've been at my newly divorced elder sister's looking after her dog whilst she has been on holiday to the Costa Del Sol with her new bf.

And her dog is terrified of me (well everyone it's an Alsatian) for god knows whatever reason so it has been an experience put it that way.

But yeah I haven't thought about OB much. I did eventually read the deviations comic and it was trash. Cophine still have bra sex even in the au.

I have found a new ship as well!

I didn't think I would so soon, but Coronation Street have a new slow burn romance that is literally just starting off so I'm going to be following that even if it is a soap. It's an f/f pairing finally not involving Sophie so I'm excited for it. Also there will be Sanvers again in a few weeks, so there's stuff to watch.

Who are teriah btw? idek.

I haven't had time to look into Before The Storm. I'm finding it difficult to drum up any interest in a prequel. I never liked Rachel and I didn't like Chloe outside of Max sooooo.... I don't want to spend my money on it.... I will watch a lets play at some point though I'm sure. Is it actually as good as LiS?

teriah are mariah/tessa from the young and the restless, an american soap. they're a slow burn romance too (though they have kissed already). they're going to be the first actual lgbt characters/couple on Y&R ever, so it's kind of a big deal. normally i wouldn't be into american soap ships, but something about them just roped me in.

i liked rachel and chloe outside of max so it's fun for me!

i DO think it's on par with LiS. they music and atmosphere are VERY LiS. it's a bit faster paced (because they only have 3 episodes instead of 5) but it's a very worthy sequel.

But yeah Corrie seems to be a super slow burn. They are friends but on the outs at the mo because one thinks the other is homophobic and the other one is beating herself up and believes that has to be why she doesn't like the others new gf.

So yeah angst and denial right now.

That must be the difference then as I don't think I could call any soap in the UK conservative. Yeah they used to be, but we have moved pretty well with the times. The only problem is the majority of soap couples are doomed from almost the word go because no one stays together, so while it's great to get into a couple you sort of have to do it knowing that in months or years the couple will be forced apart, by cheating, or death, or what have you.

That's why it's good to have shows like OB that have a natural end point and ships like cophine can be endgame.
