Justin wasn't the kind of guy who would 'show off' and brag about his tricks but in this case he definitelly used it to get through to Brian and let him know he can't take him for granted.

You know, I think the way Brian behaved that night at Babylon and the way he kept avoiding Justin and refused to spend time with was his way of trying to draw the line and not let himself get too carried away, esp since toward late S1 he was growing fond of Justin and even helped him and encourged him to go to art school and all that.

I can totally understand Justin's need to let Brian know he can't take him for granted.

Brian was definitely trying to get too close to Justin, but I think it was already too late. And if the jealousy he felt that night at Babylon wasn't enough for him to realize it, the bashing gave him a pretty good idea, I think.

I think he realized it.
I mean when he talked to Lindsay in 1.21 he practically admitted that he wants to run away, because it gets too much. And IMO that incl. Justin as well as Michael/David/Portland.

I worked at the library this morning.
Wednesday mornings schoolchildren are coming together with their teachers.
This morning we had a whole bunch of 9 year olds there.

One of the boys' names was Brian and another one's Justin

Steffi- I agree with you. I guess at that point in 121 Brian wanted to get away and go to NYC not just because he wanted to move on to a better job but also because he felt thngs are getting a bit 'too close to comfort' esp since he was clearly develping more deep feelings towards Justin.

I love how he can't really hide his true felings when he holds Justin close and hug him right after he told him he'll get along without him

Towards the end of season 1 it was very clear that Brian had developed feelings for Justin.

I agree too that going to NYC was also about running away from Justin and the feelings Brian realized he was starting to feel. I think they frightened him.
