Peter has never been a real Marauder. If he had been, he wouldn't have betrayed is friends.
Then again... if he hadn't betrayed his friends and no one else would have stopped him, Voldemort might have risen to much more power in the years to come and who knows what would have happened. The whole wizarding world might have been destroyed by the time Harry was to join Hogwarts. - Not that that justifies Wormtails treachery. __________________

There must have been some good qualities in Peter once, though, or else Sirius, James, and Remus wouldn't have been such close friends with him. I wonder what went so very, very wrong with him.

I'm really hoping for more Marauder info in Book 7. The little bits and pieces we get of their history is definitely one of the things I love most about the series.

She must have such a detailed picture of their past lives in her head, for all these details that get thrown into earlier books to later come back and fit so well into the current storyline (I'm still so impressed by the throwaway line in the first chapter of SS about "young Sirius Black" lending Hagrid his motorcycle

Ah, but would she tell us? Or would she say we just have to wait and read? How much actual spoilery info does she give in interviews?

 Which, while frustrating, is probably a good thing. I enjoy the surprise of each book too much to really want to be spoiled. __________________

Didn't she say somewhere that she might publish a kind of "HP companion" where she would give all the backstory stuff and all kinds of information she wasn't able to put in the books? I thought I read something like that somewhere.
