I remember reading that scene…I was in my bedroom and my son was in the living room. I was a little bit ahead of him in the book and I gasped. He ran in, alarmed asking what happened. I cried, tears running down my face…"I'm not telling!"

To me the moment where he had to bury Dobby was the moment where he lost his childhood forever. Just the act of bury the past and somehow moving on even when the gravity of his responsibility weighs so heavy. All those people fighting for him and he's the only one that can end it. It was such a meaningful chapter for me.

Well it was because he didn't know them and we were just getting to know Harry. So yeah, when you become invested in their well being it's more tragic when someone dies. Dobby was so loyal to Harry. To a fault even but he was brave till the very end.
