There is so much vulnerability on his face when he looks at or thinks about her.
I don't know how anyone can think of him, even sans soul, as a bad boy. He was a hopeless romantic with his heart on his sleeve. I love the evolution of Spuffy so much. I can see ways for them getting together in any season but that's because of how rich their characters are and so many good fan fiction writers out there showing the way. But ultimately I'm glad they defied ship protocol and didn't get together until years into their knowing each other. And not in a friends for years and then blah blah. It was always an intense relationship and in a way a slow burn romance. __________________

I really do find Spuffy happening plausible in every season.
The fact they slowly evolved over many years with buildup that was natural and unplanned makes them more real/unique to me more than any other couple. It wasn't Season 5 Joss finally went there.   __________________

They had such a fantastic natural build up.
Most ships that have their characters not get together for years become so tedious as the writers play the will they/won't they card. Spuffy didn't have any of that. Everything between them happened at exactly the right pace. (of course they always had that spark and I can also see them hooking up 10000 different ways but that's what fanfics for) __________________
