This is just one episode where Spike shows the vamp love includes obsession.

It's really confusing though b/c of all the times he is selfless as the show goes on.

Then we see selfish love most of Season 6 after they kiss.

It's funny how he thought his plan would actually work chaining Buffy up ect.

I understood Spike chaining her up. He thought, "If I could just talk to her and have her really listen..."

"I'm on every night" somehow reminded me of "I'll leave the light on"

It is great to have a full house. The only reprise I want is us SMGers on at the same time.

B/C Buffy is the something Effulgent he has been searching for his entire existence.

Buffy should have gotten help with her depression.

I think he showed his selflessness even with the obsession. He threatened to let Dru eat her if she didn't admit she had feelings for him and then begged for only a crumb and stopped Dru from hurting her without it. He chained her up yet emotionally exposed himself. He offered to destroy the most important person in his life as proof that that part of his life was over and she was his new path.

Why should Buffy care at that point if he staked Dru?

I think he should have known it wouldn't matter to her.


It seemed like when ever these 2 were in the same room together they would always tune out most other things.

Even when they were still enemies Season 4.

Angel was like a shadow in the background in LW.

Accompanying fic idea. Buffy & Spike are seeing the same psychiatrist and don't even know it and it's not long before the therapist realizes their connection.

It wasn't that Buffy cared that much about if Dru wasn't in the world. To her it was just one less vampire. Even if it was one that Angel used to bang.

What Spike was offering was powerful for him.

tbh a little bit of it was probably about knowing Angel staked Darla for Buffy and look where that got him. Buffy's first boyfriend/lover.

That is true about how they look at each other. I can't even see them as enemies in S4. I even have trouble using that word for them in S2. They fought on opposing sides but there was always a spark, a mental kinship between them.

Some fans got it wrong with that quote and sentiment.

They thought it meant he was the dark to her light but it was more that he was the Buffy of the dark side.
