It also probably felt at times like they were appearing more often if their episodes were close together

That is a good point too. It also may have been a few episodes with his children together, but different children in each episode.

That's true too . I think I've had the twins recently, then I've had Dicky, & now Maureen I think it was (it was one of the older girls). Then Kathy has been brought up a few times. So it has been a few episodes close together where his family has come up & been explored or seen.

That sounds likely it then. They all appear scattered and make it feel like you have so much more of his family than you really do.
