Yes it's a shame, interestingly but not surprisingly the political views of those fans fit in with a sexist world view.

That is why sokka episode 1-4 is so important for these people, cause I believe they liked him the most then.

Yeah I think that even if someone says they support women's rights, not being able to accept a flawed female character is...not a great sign.

The fact that people can't handle her being confident is sad.
