2x06 - "The Riddle of the Broken Doll"
Episode Discussion

Nancy (Kennedy McMann) and the Drew Crew learn that they have a new battle on their hands.
Meanwhile, George's (Leah Lewis) strange behavior leaves Nick (Tunji Kasim) feeling unsettled.
Lastly, Carson (Scott Wolf) makes Nancy an offer she can't refuse.
Alex Saxon, Maddison Jaizani and Riley Smith also star.

I've seen a couple of comments about the episode including one from a reviewer I don't really like and now I'm just like...eh (because if this person likes it...chances are I probably won't). And while 2x05 was technically a great episode, the episodes in general have gotten progressively less interesting for me since 2x01 and now that Season 2 is actually starting I'm legitimately concerned I'm going to hate it. Not to mention there's solo Nick/Nancy in the promo and I'm not really sure why the show keeps pushing them into scenes together when they didn't care much during the second half of Season 1. If I didn't read those couple of interviews, I probably would even be more discouraged. Factor in the freaking Bobbseys and I'm struggling to see what I'm going to even like about the upcoming episodes Sorry for the tiny rant.

But at least Kennedy seems excited about it and she's so cute.

I really hope it's a good episode even with the Bobbseys and Nick and Nancy

I think this episode might have been one of the creepier ones. The dead guy at the morgue and all the bugs...ick. It seemed to move kind of slow but it was better than the promo made it seem

I loved seeing the Drew Crew happy and relaxed (for like 5 minutes) (also Ace's note from his mom? We have to meet her soon, right?) at the beginning of the episode. We got some good Drew Crew content and we have Nancy officially working for Carson now. Yay! I'm sure I'll have more thoughts when I rewatch.

I have to watch it again. I kinda want to tonight, but I'm getting tired...so it will probably be tomorrow.

My initial thoughts:

- I liked this episode WAY more than I thought I was going to. It did drag in a few parts, but I think overall it was pretty good. It's a much different version of the show and you can tell this was envisioned to originally be the season 2 premiere (or at least a version of it).

- Interesting they jumped 2 weeks and are having game nights? Apparently Game Night Ace crushes it?? Can we please see him please????

- It kinda reminded me of a late Season 1 or early Season 2 episode of Buffy.

- Why didn't anyone say "zombie"? Cause that's what it kinda was.

- Did I heard Tunji's REAL LIFE ACCENT?? Also, Bess and her "au pair" puppet show???

- Ace is my boyfriend now!! Sorry Nancy! He's PERFECT. And his scene with George?? SOOO SWEET!

Also, please cut your hair (it looks a little better in the promo...and we know alot better later on).

- After barely anything the last couple of episodes, there was definitely more than crumbs in this episode. Loved seeing Ace and Nancy be so in synch and them talking about ordering Chinese on the phone was SOOO domestic. Also...he thought of things before she even asked (like the police scanner) and he was the one who did the autospy. Also...he said the things he did for Nancy "gave him purpose".

Also, they stood by each other during the ritual. I almost thought they were gonna hold hands.

- Leah Lewis was brilliant. She is so good with George's new supernatural problem. I really hope she goes to her mother.

- Nick/George were super sweet! I loved how he asked her how how she was and she gave him an honest answer. A little bit of angst is okay. Also, love how she's so close to Millie now.

- Nick/Ace CRUMBS. Loved my bros talking about their women.

- Also...what is your last name ACE?!?! I mean...well...we already know...but they are teasing his mom SOOOOOO much.

- Tamura is so done with these people. Also...I saw this theory on tumblr...you don't think they're gonna make Tamura...Ace's half brother?? I mean...I don't know if the math would work and like why would someone in witness protection become a cop?? But Tamura is pretty mysterious too. Hmmmm. Something to think about. But I also like Shu's theory that Ace's brother is in Witsec because he's connected with Everett Hudson's crimes.

- Nancy/Carson; I love how they're getting back to normal. Sad Carson's in debt though. Maybe Ryan can help with the bills? And have Carson on retainer or something?

- Nancy is going to Carson's secret weapon...but Ace is going to be her secret weapon right??

- Hannah Gruen was SUPER MAD at Nancy. And I'm don't blame her. Glad they're on okayish terms right now.

- I didn't even realize Ryan wasn't in the episode until after it was over. I'm guessing he'll have much more to do soon.

- Still no sign of The Fish. Should I put his picture on a milk carton? Or at the local aquarium??

- The next episode looks good too. Reminds me a bit of Supernatural.

Will have more thoughts when I rewatch again.

the Nancy/Ace scenes were the best

I love that Nancy and Carson are back on good terms again and are working together.

George in the bathroom with Odette was freaky. I cant wait to see how she handles that situation.

Excited for your thoughts! I have a ton of school and work stuff the next few days so it's really good there's a break so I don't have to worry about finding time to watch again right away.

Yes, I can catch up with all my gifs and some tumblr stuff. I think the episodes are going to go straight through to the finale after that though. There might be one more break, but the finale is either May 26th or June 2nd (because "In The Dark" inherits the time slot on June 9th). So take your break when you can!

I actually watched this ep before the last one

and I was sooo confused until I watched the previous one

I was thinking.. what’s going on with George? But now I know.
I wonder if or when anyone is gonna figure it out.

Was kinda creepy with the undead guy.

I know Nancy stole from Hannah, but wow she was pissed.

Yeah..she was NOT messing around...but I like that even though she was super pissed, she still ended up trying to help Nancy fix things. She's a good Keeper!

I wonder if anyone else will end up becoming a Keeper. I wonder if Nancy might one day become a Keeper?

I watched this one first because I didn’t remember if I had already watched the previous one or not, and the night this one aired I looked to see what the previous ep was about and I realized I hadn’t watched it yet. So I had paused my tv before this ep came on but you can only pause it for up to an hour and then it starts playing again. But I was distracted and lost track of time

So just decided to watch this one anyway before the last one.

Yeah Hannah tried her best. Now I wonder if she has a solution for what’s happening with George? That’s some serious side affects.

She might have a solution, but don't forget George's mother is also clairvoyant. So maybe this whole near-death experience actually work up her powers?
