That's the norm, but hospitals always treat police (and the fire service) differently. They always let the partner and/or supervisor in at least. Seems to be an unspoken understanding that in certain professions colleagues are treated like family in terms of visiting. The hospital let her in as his partner, they don't know the history.

That does kinda make sense then. But I'm still upset with this ep in general. Things happening too FAST and no discussions that we get to actually HEAR-Cal would have put up such a fuss to keep his Dad there-that Grace would not have done that. The whole ending to me made everyone "out of character". I just hope the writers know where they're going with this, because if they don't, we and they are in trouble.

I wonder if the 16 episode season had them ramp up the personal stakes a little faster than had it been 22. They probably had plans for 13 or 22, then had to squeeze it in a shorter time frame without cutting any of the action. Or maybe there is great footage on the metaphorical cutting room floor.

But it did seem fast to get Ben (and Mick) out of the house. That has to be key for something that is going down.

To have Lourdes no where around without a good explanation was strange. She went to the restroom. She stepped out to call Jared’s mom. She was visiting her parents upstate, she is caught in traffic, etc. A one sentence explanation was all we need. And speaking of Jared’s mom, where was she? They mentioned her earlier in the episode so we know she is still alive.

Yeah, only getting "she's on her way" was dumb. They should have said she'd stepped out, even something as simple as she's gone to get coffee - and she would go because she'd probably think Michaela was in shock.

Yeah, I agree..it wasn't very well thought out. While that was happening, I was like..that's the dude's wife..she should have already been there by that point.

I finally got around to watching the episode. Things got tense really fast.

It really surprised me that woman who came to Ben's house was working for the bad guys. It sucks that Vance is gone. I really started to like him once he teamed with Ben.

As far as Vance is concerned, there's a rule: no body, no death. I'm going to hold onto hope that maybe he survived. Unless, first episode back, we get a funeral for him.

I did not know there's only 16 eps this season. So you all could be right about things getting amped up way too fast-maybe they thought they were getting 20 or 22 eps. idk
