That could be a theme song for just about any woman - at least at some times in our lives. It's so easy to lose touch with who you are in the struggle to manage your life, its demands and the demands of all the people in your circle. Very moving.

I don't know much about the musical, but do you think the storyline sort of parallels Paige's life on Scorpion?

Um, I mean, I guess parts of it, but overall, not really. Jenna is a woman who has been married to her husband for a while, he changed after they married and became abusive, he hits her, sexually assaults her, takes her wages. gaslights her, restricts her contact with other people, etc. The story is basically her trying to get together the funds to leave him while dealing with her unwanted pregnancy at the same time. So Jenna and Paige both are single mothers (since Jenna is eventually able to leave her husband) and both of them work(ed) in diners, but that's really where the comparisons end.

I just found out Waitress will be playing here in DC in May and June. It won't be with Kat, of course, but I'm still considering it. I might just try one Saturday afternoon to see if I can snag half-price tickets.

I know Stacy and I are getting dinner before, apparently somewhere pretty upscale - so I need to figure out what place so I can google the menu and get all the words defined so I know what I'm ordering. I remember my family and I going to a fancy place in New Jersey and I saw this long complicated word and asked the waiter "what exactly is this?" and he's like "that is soup," and my sister blurts "why don't you just say 'soup' then?"

It's been years since I've indulged in any theater around here, and I really should splurge on a couple of outings for myself before I move. Winston-Salem has a fair amount of theater and such, but nothing like the variety of DC.
