I am looking at in this way: This is behind-the-scenes producing by Nick Santora, along with episode writers, and it has been a mapping out of Season #04—with what happens at this point, that point, and by season’s end.

I disagree with the decision, after Walter and Paige declared their love for each other in “Something Burrowed, Something Blew” (S03 E22), to test them during Season #04. I would have them declare their love for each other, as they did, and then when they returned from the island in the season finale (“Scorp Family Robinson,” S03 E24), as Paige was initiating her and Walter consummating their relationship, I would have Walter propose marriage to Paige. (Something along the lines, “I already feel you are my wife. You and Ralph are my life.” Short but not out of character with articulation.)

I am not wanting soap-opera types of challenges for the Waige relationship. In fact, I never wanted any of that with Scorpion. This is not a soap opera. And yet, every season, there has been something suggestive of such possibility (whether or not played out): Season #01—Walter/Paige/Drew and Paige/Walter/Agent Simone Taylor (“Revenge,” S01 E11); Season #02—Toby/Happy/comedian Chet (up till “Crazy Train,” S02 E07), Paige/Walter/Linda, and, by season’s end, Walter/Paige/Tim; Season #03—Walter/Paige/Tim; Season #04—Happy/Toby/Amy, Paige/Walter/Florence, Paige/Walter/Florence/Sylvester; and even Ralph/Patty/Jesse. I don’t know if I recalled all; but I surely tried.

Soap opera does not work with Scorpion. All it is filler. A way to make the series, as each season is playing, eat up and waste time.

I did not watch “Gator Done” (S04 E19) as it aired [Monday, March 19, 2018], because I had a sense of something. I am feeling toyed with by Nick Santora and company. I have watched Scorpion since it premiered with its “Pilot” September 22, 2014. But, it’s getting to a point in which the journey is becoming less enjoyable.

The couple of Toby and Happy are written as down to earth, believable, and they feel like they have a meaningful life that is interesting. I have enjoyed Quintis in Season #04. They thrill me. But, as for Waige—that is Walter and Paige—they are presented as the ones who are supposed to be on some epic level (and that they have to be challenged), yet their lives have not been moved far enough. Scorpion has dragged them. And I am thinking Nick Santora and his staff of writers may have done this to themselves—and to Scorpion.

It may be a good thing—maybe—that CBS’s Scorpion was dethroned from No. 1 in its time-slot by ABC freshman The Good Doctor (which has its season finale next Monday, March 26). This is because there is no longer a luxury of time. So, Nick Santora and company may decide that, if they sense Season #05 will be the last for Scorpion (this would be pending CBS’s decision whether to renew the series past this 2017–18 season), they have no more comfort with time to waste; that they gotta wrap it up—that is, where characters will end up. And I think the “Pilot” revealed that anyway. That every person is Scorpion. And Quintis, Waige, and all other couplings—and they will end up as such (together; lasting)—that will have to get wrapped up as Scorpion wraps up.

Sometimes I do think they are going overboard with the "Walter doesn't know anything about being in a relationship" thing.

Considering how upset he was over just *dreaming* about Flo - it seems crazy that he would think it's okay to ask her to a lecture. On the other hand, we do have to remember how very literal Walter is. He was told by Toby that his dream doesn't mean anything. And although Paige reacted badly at first, they worked that out, too. So it's okay - being friends with Flo is okay. Walter is still very much in love with Paige. The ONLY way that Walter would spend an evening with any other woman is because he believes to the core of his being that it's nothing more than two people with a similar interest going to a lecture. HE will not see anything at all else about it.

That's where his problem lies. He's not stupid - he simply doesn't think like most people.

Another thing that gets me is how they are harping on Paige's issues with Walter. We've said this before but - she knew what she was getting into, and she fell in love with Walter as he is. She seems bent on changing him and that's something that never works - even with non-genius guys who have some EQ.

I did like Toby in this episode - and the interaction between Toby and Happy. She was hilarious constantly talking about not wanting to tell their kid about some stupid way its daddy died. I love how they are both feeling so inadequate to the task of being parents, and yet so excited about it and so sure that they'll be able to support each other through it. For two such dysfunctional individuals, they make a great example of how functional couples should be.

Here is the problem I have with the Walter situation he lied to Paige about the lecture being cancelled I know it is because he overhead her tell Ralph she would rather be drugged thru a swamp than go. He should have confronted Paige and said if you don't want to go may I take someone else and if that turned out to be Florence that would be OK because Walter would not be lying about anything I hate when writers create a problem that is not necessary. I think Paige does accept Walter for who is but I think she just wants him to try enjoying other things besides science and Walter seems very unwilling to lower himself to her level a good example when they played charades with her friends Walter refused to simplify the drawings

See, I don't see the lecture thing as a big deal. I mean I know it's a big deal in the sense that you know it's going to blow up in his face, but I hardly think he needed to ask permission or anything to go with someone else - and despite knowing it was right up her alley, Florence was literally his last choice. Paige encouraged him to befriend her, and now they're friends. As has been said, he's a very literal person and not only has he been told that his dream didn't mean anything, he and Paige have also affirmed that they trust each other. If she'd asked him not to hang out with Florence and he agreed and then snuck off somewhere with her behind Paige's back, totally different story. But he knows he wouldn't do anything inappropriate and he thinks Paige knows that too, so he doesn't see anything wrong with it, especially since Paige was literally just harping on him about learning to lie to spare feelings.

I have no problem with Walter and Florence being friends and doing projects and going to lectures together it is the lying to Paige about it being cancelled that is going to come back and bite Walter in the butt

If that little white lie comes back on Walter - then it's Paige's fault. She is the one who taught him to do that. It wouldn't be right for her to now turn around and say he shouldn't have done it. If she doesn't like that he puts her lessons into practice, she has only herself to blame.

I'm not as upset with the whole Flo and Walter going to convention thing anymore, but I definitely have mixed feelings about the ending of Monday's episode for other reasons revolving around the white lies.

I posted my thoughts here on Tumblr. Feel free to help me understand any confusion I have on FF.

Maybe I'm missing something, I don't know. Any insight would help!

I think you may be reading too much into that remark, and into Paige's tone. While I did feel there was a touch of veiled sarcasm in it, for the most part, I think she was just perpetuating the white lie - acting like she feels it's a fascinating subject, she's disappointed and and she's surprised others don't share the interest. I didn't really get any sense of anger on her part at all. If anything, it sounds more to me like she's relieved and she's trying to hide that by her feigned surprise.

Agree. if she thinks he needs to only lie to butter her up and not to spare her feelings, then she's being unfair.

I wonder if Jadyn hanging back at the garage - and all the mentions of a "possible" baby - are some sort of Easter Egg?
