Hello friends.

I did put in my notice at the job. I was really sad for a couple days afterward but I'm feeling okay about it now. Possibly because I am SO tired. Thursday I worked 8am-6pm and then 11pm-7am, then Friday I worked 8am-4pm, then 11pm-7am. Then Saturday I worked 11pm-7am, and Sunday I worked 1pm-6pm and am not almost halfway through my 11pm-7am. That would be my schedule all the time working both jobs, so it's helping validate my decision to leave this one as the right thing to do. I will miss aspects of it though - I actually really love being on night shift.

But I am very very tired and have been useless at everything that isn't work the last few days because I've spent most of that time sleeping.

That's a crazy work schedule! :jaw_drop: You need time to yourself to do things other than sleep. Something had to give. Are you going to be able to pick up extra hours elsewhere?

You couldn't possibly keep up that schedule all summer, so it's good you quit the other job. Hopefully you'll get some time to catch up on rest now that this marathon weekend is over.

I am T minus nine hours from officially selling my soul to the farm (harvest starts in the morning and then we are slammed until November) but I'm so excited to actually be getting hours again. :woot: It will be my first time full time at one singular job since December 2017.

Congratulations!

That is excellent, Nicole! Considering your crazy schedules for the past couple of years, this will probably feel like a vacation - even if it is busy.

I'm already exhausted and it's day one - but I know I just need my stamina built back up.

And your body clock probably needs to adjust to a regular routine. Your old working schedule sounded crazy!

It is not adjusting well so far.

I have a new member of the family. She's a little girl Shih-Tzu and she's just 10 weeks old. Her name is Shilo. She was so shy when I first went to meet her last week, but once I got her home she turned into a wild child. She's a bundle of play for about an hour - then she conks out.

Awww, Heidi, she's cute! :)

FoxPhile 06-23-2019 04:05 PM

She's keeping me very busy.

Ugggh she's so cute. And all the little tail wags!

Reminds me of when I brought Eliza home. She was so shy for a little bit and then, well, Heidi has me on Facebook and has seen how clingy that damn cat is.
