On October 7th Australia folks went forward 1 hr. and will stay that way until April 2019.

Our clocks went back to GMT last weekend so our evenings have been getting dark earlier for a week already. It suddenly feels very cold and miserable! :(

It will be light early in the morning again for a few days - but it will be harder for me to get out and run errands after work (I can't drive in the dark).

Popping in to say hey! I finally have a minute of down time. :lol: This morning was intense, was at the racetrack from 6-10am and it was POURING the whole time. We had garbage bags wrapped around our cameras and we were soaked through by the end. I still had a chill hours later.

I've been following all your pictures. Despite the rain it looks like you're having a fabulous experience!

I'm home for like 24 hours to work a shift and vote and then I head right back down. :lol:

Good for you. That's a deal of effort to vote that a lot of people might not bother with.

People sacrificed way too much for my right to vote for me to not do it.

That's something we all need to remember - from the revolutionaries who fought to create this country to the women who fought to give other women the vote to the continuing struggle to provide equal voting rights for everyone free of manipulative voting laws.

I think it is something most of us are somewhat aware of, but with the degree I have, I feel I may be a bit more in tune with that than some others are.

I had a History teacher in 8th grade who really instilled it in us. I was never a fan of history classes - before then or since. But Mr. Hollowell really gave us a sense of what American History meant to all our lives. This was also in the very late 60s so there was a ton of very relevant current events that he made us see the importance of - from the moon landing to the Vietnam war and the civil rights struggle. I'm actually amazed, now, that considering the time I grew up in, no other History teacher even mentioned the history that was being made all around us.

Three weeks from right now I'll be with Roxanne and if I was a horse I'd be pawing the air. :lol:
