Nope nope nope I can't do horror. I swear the day I watched every Saw movie ever made right in a row I was taken over by some alternate universe Nicole.

Same here. Years ago I watched Nightmare on Elm Street with the BF. Within the first hour I was curled up in a corner of the couch, clutching a pillow and verging on catatonic. It took me hours to recover.

I've not really seen many horror films, I just find them silly, not scary. I dislike all the gore, not because I'm squeamish, but because it serves no purpose. I like a film with a good story and characters you can root for, but I've never cared for any of the characters in a horror movie!

I can see how it might be quite fun to make a horror movie if you're an actor, though.

Horror movie characters have a tendency to be a little stupid. They always seem to do the exact thing they should not do.

What few horror movies I have watched have seem very overdone. Despite my problems watching Nightmare, I remember thinking that no human body could possibly contain that much blood. So while I was scared witless, there was a part of me that was laughing at the absurdity of it.

So true! Like going to investigate a strange noise in the cellar in the dark on their own, wearing only their pyjamas and carrying a frying pan (or something equally useless) as a weapon!

I still like Robert in The X-Files best - second to Scorpion, of course!

And I've still not watched any of his episodes! Loved the early seasons, but I stopped watching at about Season 5 or 6 I think. We have the box set though so I really have no excuse.

When he first came on, I was primed not to like him - being upset that Mulder was gone, of course. But Robert did a good job of making the character interesting. I wasn't crazy about Annabeth Gish, though.

The Mulder/Scully relationship got a little weird and confusing, if I remember and I think that's when I really lost interest. I would like to see what it was like with two different lead characters, so I really must watch it!

Scully was definitely still a lead after Doggett (Robert) came on. It was a very different dynamic, since Doggett was as much if not more of a skeptic as Scully. The Annabeth Gish character was the true believer - but since her role was secondary, it didn't work as well. The fun part is that Scully started to play a bit of the believer/advocate to Doggett's skeptic.

I need to get back to the X Files. I liked what I saw, but it started all blending together to me other than the major episodes focusing on one of their personal lives. I started realizing that I wasn't retaining details.

I'm sort of glad I got into TXF when I did - before Netflix and such. I'm not sure I would want to binge it for that exact reason - you need a little time between episodes to absorb what's going on.

Yeah, I'm going to pace myself next time I try to get into it. Though I've never actually watched on Netflix, I found the first 4 or 5 seasons on DVD for like $4 each. I think I made it to season three?

RP has been on the convention circuit again this weekend:

Empire State Comic Con - Guests

I think I've only heard of Robert and Sam Jones from that guest list!
