I can't for the life of me remember (god my memory sucks), but did we ever see Hook when he first got the Jolly Roger? I don't remember seeing that.

Or did I miss it?

The Jolly Roger was called The Jewel of the Realm and Liam was the captain. When Liam died Killian renames it The Jolly Roger and the rest is history! (3x05 Good Form)

Does anyone wish for Emma to use her magic to get the Jolly Roger back? I think it would wonderful for her appreciation for Hook, for all the things he has done for Emma, and her family! And I'm pretty sure it would make him ecstatic that she would care so much.

I think him trading it was such a big sacrifice as it was his home... but when he had his ship but still had a void left by Emma

I love to see the TJR again, but I would prefer it if they got it back together IF they had an opportunity to get it back, and NOT steal it back because it was a trade that Hook did for Emma to find her and I also think Hook is with peace with not having it because he got to Emma as well

So do I have this timeline right...

During that missing year, Hook searched for his ship to get his mind off Emma. Then Ariel found him and he got his ship back after killing Blackbeard which then made him think his decision had doomed Ariel's True Love to death.

I hope we get to see more scenes with him in that missing year and what happened after the guilt over his decision to not help Ariel began to eat away at him.

I'm such a fan of angst!

In 3x12 he says his home is the Jolly Roger and he goes off to find it. When we see him in 3x17 it seems like he had searched and hadn't found it and had resigned himself to the empty feeling of losing his ship (in reality it's the loss of Emma that is giving him that feeling). When Ariel tells him she's seen it, he is desperate to find it thinking getting TJR back will make the empty feeling go away.

Then he gets it back by "killing" Blackbeard (or so he thought) but Ariel saves him and finds Eric.

After that I'm not sure how much time passes but he does trade his ship for the bean, presumably to Blackbeard. I don't know that we will ever see that time but we can only imagine that Hook felt terrible because as soon as he got the message he didn't hesitate to outrun the curse and get back to Emma.
