He really thought that if he had his ship back he would fill the void that was there of Emma, she left a void in him. Having the TJR didnt do that at all, Hook had his ship, his adventures, his treasures but Emma was STILL there. He couldnt move on we even saw that with how he dismissed the batr wench earlier.

I agree with this.

He was his worst self without her and also he couldn't fully go back to him how he was before as well. And also that void that his ship and his life without her couldn't fill



And we also find out later on he traded it to his arch enemy - Blackbeard it seemed
