Welcome to the Barry Allen ♦ Iris West Appreciation Thread

Iris West is a journalist in training. Barry Allen is the Flash (a.k.a The Red Streak). They grew up together after Barry's mother was murdered and Barry's father was convincted for her murder. Friendship; they are each other's best friends, they have a deep bond. Family;it's difficult for Barry to explain what he feels for Iris, she's the only family he had, but it runs so much deeper and Barry is just discovering that. Iris on the other hand is oblivious and fails to see what is right in front of her face.

After being hit by a lightning, Barry develops powers, now he is protecting the city from others like him, as the mysterious known as the R e d S t r e a k this will only further develop and complicate his relationship with Iris as her pursuit of journalism and the Streak will pull her closer to him but into danger.

Barry will work overtime alongside Iris's protective father (Joe), to keep his secret from Iris. Howeverwith Iris's inquistive nature and fasination with the impossible. She is determined to pursue the Flash.

I thought it was kind of reaching of Iris. If she had known the truth lots would be different but there was plenty of time. Barry never said anything and she never dealt with her own. I do like she confirmed her feelings.

I'm in total agreement with everyone saying that they probably never argue but that it was totally necessary and impressive to see the honesty finally pour out of them. Even Barry although his timing was ill placed, it was still good that he confronted her about her feelings for him. This whole episode made him a man and he is oozing SEX!!!!

Yes about the change. It was noticeable at Star Labs when they were arguing. They are so used to being on the same page or trying not to hurt the other. Neither one held back in expressing their feelings.

This scene proved clear as day Iris' real feelings for Barry… She has always felt something for him and i think finding out he's the Flash and that he had lied to her for the whole year really brought it to the forefront how she actually loves him. I can't see how Iris could consider marrying Eddie after the last couple episodes; she is obviously deeply connected to Barry and in love with him...according to Candice. This connection is not lost on Iris, why else would she say, 'do it for me', in that moment she believed she had the power to bring him back, just like when he was in a coma. Iris would be living a lie if she marries Eddie.
Then, from a plot point of view , how many times must Barry express his feelings only to have his hopes dashed over and over? There must be some payoff for all the season long westAllen back and forth.
