Welcome to the Barry Allen ♦ Iris West Appreciation Thread

Iris West is a journalist in training. Barry Allen is the Flash (a.k.a The Red Streak). They grew up together after Barry's mother was murdered and Barry's father was convincted for her murder. Friendship; they are each other's best friends, they have a deep bond. Family;it's difficult for Barry to explain what he feels for Iris, she's the only family he had, but it runs so much deeper and Barry is just discovering that. Iris on the other hand is oblivious and fails to see what is right in front of her face.

After being hit by a lightning, Barry develops powers, now he is protecting the city from others like him, as the mysterious known as the R e d S t r e a k this will only further develop and complicate his relationship with Iris as her pursuit of journalism and the Streak will pull her closer to him but into danger.

Barry will work overtime alongside Iris's protective father (Joe), to keep his secret from Iris. Howeverwith Iris's inquistive nature and fasination with the impossible. She is determined to pursue the Flash.

Random thought of the day: How much of the West's Thanksgiving meal did Barry polish off, and at some point, did Iris just sit back and watch him in awe as he went for thirds?

ETA: An interview with the Flash would admittedly be an awesome gift!

Eh. He's a cop. I figure he's got a steel stomach. Anyway, maybe she's like my husband. He knows how to make three things - literally. Tacos, grilled chicken, and spaghetti. (Only he married an Italian, and my spaghetti's better, so he's really down to two.) I love him to pieces, but his culinary repertoire is rather limited. Maybe Iris is like that!

I dunno. I think she's just so cute and sweet and charming and brave and smart and 1,000 other wonderful things. I like the idea of her being secretly terrible at something like that. And the men in her life love her too much to tell her so. I keep remembering the story of my great-grandma, right after she got married. She cooked dinner for my great-grandpa and accidentally knocked some soap into it, but he ate two bowls without mentioning it because he loved her so much.

It's headcanon for me, until the show takes it away from me!

Lol The trick was him whispering to Iris to get the gun. I liked that.

I guess we'll find it who cooks pretty soon. I'd still go with Iris.
