Because I felt some of the later episodes were a lot stronger.

I think for the amount of episodes that had been ordered that they did a good job for the first half of the season. Not knowing if they would get picked up for a full season, made them have to rush things and create drama and interest; however, now I hope they slow things down a lot and give the characters time to develop more fully.

I've enjoyed them all, but the early eps were a lot more fluffy and the last few spiraled into darkness.

well I think Mary will lose a certain type of innocence to her after hearing about the prophecy and such

I like that though. The dark tones creeping in. It's what draws you in.

I liked it, too. I didn't mean it to sound negative. I have no complaints about the show so far, but I do have some complaints about the marketing.

I agree. Obviously it can't be all warm and fuzzy all the time. I tend to like shows that are dark though.

Very true. But, the French years were the shiniest, happiest part of her life.

Not that I want fluff all the time, because I don't. It's just sad to think of all she has to go through now on the show, knowing what comes later.

however I do think they need slow down the angst a bit as well. I mean the whole they are good terms one ep, and bad terms on the next ep is bit tiring as well.

I thought it was dark from the get go. Not counting the Pilot (which I didn't like), most eps are generally okay for me. And I like that the show is not afraid to go there and that's why 1x07 is one of my favorites.
