Working from home today - I love my work-at-home days!

I need to start some Christmas shopping. I go visit family every year for Christmas and I take the train, so it takes a lot of thought to come up with either very small gifts that I can fit in my one small carry-on, or else something I can ship ahead. Since I recently bought a car, I'm really tempted to go out for my Christmas shopping - since I've really missed that. But then my eyes may be bigger than my suitcase!

I also need to get my hair cut soon. It's over a foot long now, so it's long enough to donate. I've usually worn my hair long, but every few years I cut it short and donate it to Locks of Love.

It's a great thing to do, doesn't cost much, and I think it really helps the people it serves. Locks of Love in particular does wigs for children - because they can be so affected when they loose their hair due to medical problems and they often cannot get wigs any other way.

Only two months left But I accomplished quite a lot this year so far, so I'm not as bummed as other years

I also feel like I've accomplished quite a bit - at least at work. There's a long-term project that has been part of my performance goals for years now, and every year I'd make a little progress on it, but this year I've really stepped up and it's actually close to finished. I won't finish it before the end of the year, but I should definitely have it done by the end of next year.

I'm actually more relieved than anything. I've had this thing hanging over my head for so long and it didn't seem like I'd ever get anywhere with it. It feels good that it's finally getting somewhere.
