Fitz did at least put in a good effort. He tried to play down the dinner (and rescuing her) and not make a big deal of it. He was clearly trying not to put any pressure on her. And her crying was not necessarily a bad thing, better than being numb and distant, or pretending to be okay.

But saying at the end she wants to go back ... you know, I feel a bit like we're back to where we were last year, with Fitz's thoughts and feelings being clear because he actually opens up to people (first Mack, now Bobbi), but what Jemma's thinking and feeling is a bit of a mystery, only 100x worse now because of the portal. I'm really hoping we find out quickly whatever it is that she doesn't want to talk about. And I hope that Fitz and Simmons start talking more about what they're thinking to each other, rather than to other people.

I think what set her off was the RED wine...reminding her of BLOOD I'm sure.

So I do think she loved Fitz's gesture.

And I think what he wanted...was to give her something else to think about...just to let her get out of the lab/the plane...and go somewhere different.

After all, Simmons did the same for him.

As Bobbi said, he wanted to show her that there IS something to look forward to in all the darkness. At this time, anything can set her off to be honest. But it doesn't mean Jemma has to be stuck in her room all day long. She needed to get out a bit. And he cleared the whole restaurant just for them so that she would feel safe. And as he told her, she didn't have to say anything.

I loved their moments. The HAND HOLDING was so natural. They are already acting like a couple.

As for going back, Simmons said I HAVE TO GO BACK. I think that's the key word. HAVE TO. Not I WANT TO. So there is more to the story. I'm sure there is a good explanation....perhaps there are more people back at the alien planet that need saving or help...But yeah, she looked miserable there. So I think we'll get more info in the next episode. Keep in mind, this was a CLIFFHANGER. So of course, it wasn't explained. They wanted to leave the fans with WHAT at the end there....But there is just NO WAY Simmons would want to willingly leave Fitz. Ever. So there has to be something more.
