As always they had great scenes and I was surprised that Mycroft agreed to work for MI6 to protect Sherlock. However I can't see these two reach a point where they find each other as brothers, there will always be something in the way, their personalities, their stubbornness, Joan

They're actually not that different, they seem more different because Sherlock is explosive and Mycroft is more controlled in his emotions.
