It's great how everyone is appreciating the strong female lead. It really is a great thing for people to see on TV and know women are being portrayed this way.

That's awesome! I'm surprised to not see Alex Voss on your list though!

Of course I love Alex and she is probably one of my favorite characters. But she has not left a big mark on me. I mean, Alex in jail is normal whereas younger Alex, when she was a drug dealer, was fierce. And I like her better as a drug dealer

Don't know if it makes sense

I also loved Emily in Skins.

I wish the first season of generation 3 and the only characters I connected with were Faye, Grace and Rich. But even then, I didn't connect with them like I did the first generations.

So glad to see so much love for the kickass ladies represented on TV these days.

So well put. I love how they're not placed in a box and can be simultaneously girly and tough at the same time and their characterisation still makes sense. And it's awesome how the ladies all seem to meet the Bechdel test so much easily compared to say 10 years ago.

Having said that, there's some amazing male characters like Bellamy Blake, Finn Nelson, Philip Jennings, Dan Humphrey and James Gordon who are great representation of male characters who prove that you don't have to be the stereotypical bad boy in order to be interesting.

My male list:
  1. Jon Snow (Game of Thrones)
  2. Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones)
  3. Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock)
  4. Jamie Fraser (Outlander)
  5. Harvey Specter (Suits)
  6. Capt. James Flint (Black Sails)
  7. Peter Quinn (Homeland)
  8. Philip Jennings (The Americans)
  9. Matt Murdock (Daredevil)
  10. Athos (The Musketeers)

I have one common denominator: most of them can fight or have fought to save other people. 2/3 of those I admire for their smarts & wit.

My favorite character so far is Bernadette from the Big Bang Theory. I like that she can go from nice to mean in minutes just like a real person.
