Anyone have a title suggestion?
eta - I'm bringing this up from the previous thread: I need to let you all know that I will be out all of Thursday morning (my time) and won't have computer access. My son has an appointment with his eye doctor and won't be able to drive with his eyes dilated, so I'll be taking him. Just so you know! Goodnight my dears! __________________

Not much, with no young children in my life.
Sunrise Service, and I'll make a special dinner for my sons. What about you all? __________________

That sounds like fun, Sherry! Family dinners are extra special at Easter!
It's a busy time of the year for me. Between all the church activities/services and family events, I probably won't be on much for Easter. My favorite Easter tradition the sunrise service, it's just so peaceful and full of renewal before the rest of the "craziness" of the day begins. Anyone else? __________________

This is the last place you need to be on Easter Sunday, Anna. You have permission to take the day off! In fact, we all do!

Sorry I haven't been here much last evening or today .. Grimm is down to fewer than 100 posts to 50k and I'm frantically trying to put together a celebration thread.

What is Sunrise Service?
In Greece we have already start the celebration for Easter... we are in the period of 40-day feast until Easter that means people don't eat mainly meat...But there are few you follow this tradition... The majority of people don't eat meat, eggs, cheese and milk during Holy Week and on Holy Friday/Saturday don't even eat olive oil. So, they're prepared themselves for the Resurrection of the Christ. Here in Greece we're used to cook magiritsa (a soup with livers or patsa) and the next day, the Holy Easter, we skewer lamb __________________

Pari, for the Sunrise Service, the congregation comes together outside just before dawn to watch the sun rise on Easter morning. There would be a brief sermon, prayer, and singing of a few hymns.
Of course, this may vary a little according to the sect and/or the congregation. Some like to serve breakfast as well. Protestant Christian denominations also observe the 40-day period of Lent, individuals usually giving up a particular food (such as sweets or red meat) during that time. The intention being, to make a personal sacrifice of some earthly pleasure. __________________
