Hmm. So...could that be why Evelyn wasn't in the CS? Because Brendan was filming Mr. Sloane so JF wrote him out of the episode but made sure he was mentioned?

That's probable. Or he wanted to distance him from the two--they're the ones going at it, but he has no desire to be a part of it.

I would like to believe he wrote to Mary while he was in France. He probably declared his love to her via that letter. Let the battle commence.

Yes, let battle commence! I think it would be very in character for him to declare his love via letter. It made me happy that she knew where he was because that means they're communicating.

It brings things full circle because they started out writing letters, but I think she knows either way.

I honestly think that's what sets him apart from those two. He loves her but they have an understanding. Evelyn doesn't fight silly battles.
