Obviously, from the interview, WB isn't a happy camper with what they've written for him, and has said as much.

I also imagine that they the writers were living in denial land that their "big plot twist" was going to sweep the internet and bring in big numbers, but that fans would just go along.

Big surprise -- the actor who plays the character was right.

SP has been the only actor who has tweeted that article. Everyone else has been almost deathly silent, so I imagine that things are pretty testy on set right not. After all, everyone's jobs are at stake because of a bone-headed writing decision to take things too far and to retcon Tansy's dialog to fit Wade's character as, "once a cheater...."

If they lose the chances of a season 3 pickup, everyone will know that this is the reason. People tend to say and do stupid things under that kind of pressure. I'm only surprised it's been limited to a single editor and that LG hasn't come out to defend her artistic vision, except that we'd be hurling virtual stones until she was crushed under the weight.

In this episode they were supposed to be in a monogamous casual relationship.

Why did she expect him to be at her beck and call???? If their relationship was nothing more than monogamous sex, why did she expect him to behave like her boyfriend???

Maybe because he has been there for her since day one. She started taking him for granted.

(Even though things did change when they began a real relationship.)

The standard press release goes something like this: "We have a plan for this season that we're sure the audience is going to love. Sometimes decisions have to be made that seem dramatic and unexpected, but we're hoping that the audience will stick with the show to see how the story unfolds, because we expect it to really ________." [Where the blank can be filled with anything from great story development, character development, exciting plot lines, etc.]

Edited to add: of course, this kind of press release is usually written when the writers know they're doing something big in terms of fan expectations and are trying to manage expectations. I truly believe that this backlash has caught them off guard. From the fact that we haven't heard a word, they clearly thought everyone would drink whatever cool aid they served.
