I'm still sad that we never got to meet Madge. I would have loved to have had the scene when she gave Katniss the mockingjay pin which is a pretty damn significant moment as it becomes the symbol of the rebellion.

Plus, I wanted to see her and Gale b/c I always loved the idea of the two of them. I was so sad when I found out she died in the books b/c I wanted her and Gale to end up together.

Yeah, I feel the same way after I read the book again, so I decide to watch THG before CF came out, but I was surprised that they didn't have Madge bec of the pin that connect to her aunt which that was the most significant moment.. Sigh..

its very significant that her pin, belonged to another tribute who died in the arena, who happens to be Haymitch, her mentor, ally in the arena

The frustrating part for me is that I'm not so sure that they would've cut Madge out if Francis Lawrence had been the director from the start. Gary Ross did a fine job with THG, but I think FLaw would've done it better.

Anyways, yes, to me, Madge and her tie to the Games with her aunt and her aunt dying being the same Games that Haymitch won and the pin actually being her aunts gave Madge giving Katniss that pin so much more meaning than it just being thrown in with some buttons in the Hob with some random old lady.

Plus, I would've really liked at least one Gale/Madge moment.

I think that the problem is that w/ THG, there are lot of missing parts that Gary Ross didn't use from the books which that's suck which that's why I wasn't into the movie, so if it was Francis, I'm sure that he would following similar from book to movie..
