You can use an animation program like Animation Shop 3 and a graphics editor like Paint Shop Pro.
You can also use Image Ready and Photoshop. Image Ready comes with Photoshop

I always thought Animation Shop was easier, specially if you're just beginning but other people will tell you the opposite so just try both.

Ever since I've gotten my new PSP version 8 I can't export the frames from AS to PSP anymore. What is wrong with it?

It looks like the early version of PSP8 doesn't recognize Animation Shop. In this help page they say you have to update to the 8.10 version.

Just wondering if I can convert a .mov file to a .gif file. It's a trailer and I want to make some avatars.

I know that Animation Shop can open avi and mpeg files and then you can turn them into a gif but I don't know when it comes to mov files.
But I'm almost sure that Ulead Gif Animator can open mov.

Interesting stuff. Do you have any idea of how to squeeze them down after you grab the frames you want so that they could be even relatively close to the size of a FF avatar?
