So, of course I've watched the sneak peek like 20 times. I swear I could see Paige's face flash with a look of resignation right as she's turning away from the picnic table. The poor thing has taken such a beating this season, she probably thinks Emily wants to talk to her to break the news that she's officially with Ali or something. Don't look away, Paige!!!!

I liked the Paily sneak peak for episode 511. From the preview it is shown that Emily only sees Paige at swim practice. So Paige has been keeping her distance. I like that the writers have not made Paige be the one apologizing, groveling, and chasing after Emily. Emily seems to be reaching out to Paige once again(wanting to talk). But it seems like Paige is wary about Emily's intentions and understandably so. Paige is trying to protect herself from getting her heart broken again. It is very obvious that Paige and Emily still love each other. Emily has come to her senses and realizes how crazy she was to throw away what she had with Paige.


But I think Paige has been keeping her distance in an effort to try to get over Emily. I think Paige is trying to be strong and move on with her life. So I think Paige has a date to see if it can aid her in getting on with her life. It looks like Paige might make Emily do a little work before a reunion happens which is what needs to happen in my opinion. I don't know if Paily will reunite in episode 511 or in 512, 513, or 514. However I do think a Paily reunion might indeed happen this season. And no matter when it happens I just hope it will be worth the wait. I have really missed Paige and Paily on the show. So I'm going to try to enjoy the upcoming scenes and episodes that feature Paily. I know that JD has done a good job with the writing in 511 per usual.

Just watched it again (don't judge me) & what if Paige is going on a date but goes into the Brew knowing Em's working & is all "I need to know what you want to talk about so I know whether I go on this date or not & Em tells her not to go & Paige calls her date off & she waits for Em's shift to finish & then they have their own after-work date instead?

I loved the sneak peek but it's only left me with more damn questions. That little look Paige gives at the end has me so confused....On one hand I think it's possibly just maybe her being afraid of whatever Emily wants to talk about. I doubt she's going to assume right away it's about them getting back together considering they pointed out that they haven't seen much of each other. So maybe Paige is just scared of the chance Emily telling her that she and Alison are together?

On the other hand I wonder if Paige actually is dating someone and just doesn't want to tell Emily about it? I wasn't really buying the date thing at first because it seems strange to think of Paige actually trying to date anybody else but maybe she just really thought she and Em were over and it is true. She just looks really torn at the end of the video.

I'm still kind of 50/50 on whether they will be together in the next episode or 5x12. Because it's JD's episode I want to believe it's that one but if Paige is seeing somebody then I don't see all of that being resolved within one episode. But then the pictures for 5x12 make them look so couple-like. But maybe it is just a friend thing? I don't know. I know it's a waste to even try to guess but I'm still trying to figure it out.

I'm still firm that they're getting back together in 511. IMO it's pretty obvious Paily are gonna be with the other couples in 513, and I don't see why that would be the case if they were just friends. And they're acting very couple-ish in 512.

IMO I think Paige is skittish because of Emily almost saying ILY on the phone to her. Paige wants to hope, but she also knows that she broke Emily's trust and that Emily seems to have taken Alison's side (as far as she knows).

Yeah. Watching it again (I know) & with all other things we know, I'm also inclined to (hope) believe that they're together by the end of 511. It just fits - look at how fast the other couples got back together, it would be the same time-frame. Plus it's JD & I think we all really really want another epic scene (trying so hard not to get my hopes up.)

God even in this short scene though, it's the longing when Em says they need to talk & how she holds Paige's gaze just that bit too long. I'm wavering on whether I want Paige to be going on a date or not. Anyway.

I also wanted to add that it seems Em is clueing Paige up on the mystery too - talking about Sydney lying etc can only be good for them as a couple.

I think Paige is wary because she is afraid of getting rejected by Emily again. I mean Paige has never apologized for writing the letter and I'm glad she has not done so since it was the right thing to do. Paige basically poured her heart out to Emily and told her she loved her. And Emily shut her down saying she was sorry and that they could only be friends. I know that Emily has been reaching out to Paige but it has been kept on a platonic basis. The audience knows that Emily has been reaching out because she still loves Paige. But in Paige's mind she would only see it as platonic. Paige is afraid of getting her hopes up and getting her heart broken again.


She also probably thinks that since Emily had taken Ali's side and has been protecting her all this time that they are now a real couple. So it is very understandable that Paige is being distant towards Emily. It makes sense that she has been keeping her distance and trying to move on. And now that Paige is trying to move on. Emily comes back around to her batting her big beautiful brown eyes and looking at her all longingly (and wistfully) wanting to talk after almost saying she loved her on the voice mail. This is very confusing to Paige. She's trying to move on but afraid of being pulled back in since she might get rejected again. That is why Paige is acting wary and looking torn in my opinion. I don't know when Paily will reunite. I just hope when they do it will well written, believable, and worth it. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.


Ps. IF Paige does have a date then it would be very understandable since she is single and trying to move on. All Paige knows is that Emily made it clear that they can only be friends. So if Paige does have a date then I'm glad she was not sitting around twiddling her thumbs waiting for Emily to come back to her. In reality a girl like Paige would never be without a date unless she wanted it that way.

Do you think maybe it plays out like a reversal of 308?, except this time Paige got 'lost' and wound up at the Brew finding Emily? And that's how she wound up there late at night? just like the 'don't look away' scene?
I'm in two minds about this because I kinda wanna see Emily actively seeking out Paige, and fighting for her.

I know, I'm just like you. It's that feeling where everything makes sense for it to happen, and evidence points to it happening, but there is still that seed of doubt. I think it's good though, I think knowing we shouldn't get our hopes too high will help lessen the disappointment if things don't go quite as we want. Since 5x06 my expectations have been set low and each week I'm rewarded with a better outcome than anticipated.
In one of his recent Q&A's on twitter, JD was asked what drew him to Paily, and his response was the longing. Boy, does he know how to write that.
