Today was the first chance that I've had to come to the board since the episode aired and when I finally came to post in this thread I had to leave to go run some errands.

I'll be honest, I thought 3x04 was by far the weakest episode of the season. In fact, it's the first episode of this season that I'm going to delete from my DVR.

Like I said over on the Bellamy thread, I actually can see why he would follow Pike but it does feel a bit rushed. I won't say it's OOC but I do think that the writers haven't done as great of a job at executing this storyline as they think they did. The same goes for Clarke. In the span of 2 episodes, Clarke has gone from wanting to kill Lexa to trying to save Lexa and, like Bellamy, it feels rushed. The writing is just off to me and this last episode just wasn't that enjoyable.

With Bellamy, a part of me wonders if Clarke were at Arkadia, if she could have reasoned with Bellamy. Would he have still agreed with Pike but maybe talked him into a different course of action? I don't know. He's bullheaded sometimes so maybe she wouldn't have been able to but we'll never know b/c Clarke is off playing "ambassador" for "her people" who she hasn't even had any real interaction with for months and has no idea what is going on in Arkadia or what they want or need.

^^Yeah, we're basically all thinking the same about that episode. Not one that I want to remember.

Hopefully, things will start to unfold a little bit differently with Clarke showing up at Arkadia.

Definitely reflects what I'm feeling right now, I'm annoyed/disappointed about the execution of the storyline because it definitely could have been fleshed out better. I don't necessarily think Bellamy was acting OOC but I do think Clarke is all over the place at the moment. There was a point made in the previous thread on BC not being co-dependant on each other which I 100% agree with, but I do feel the lack of balance in their actions now that they're not around each other ... at the very least, I would expect Clarke/Raven to try to reason with Bellamy but since Raven is suddenly MIA and Clarke is at Polis, that balance has been thrown off.

And the bolded bits, SFM. I still find it a bit unbelievable that she is still considered a champion for her people right now since she literally hasn't seen them in months and doesn't know what they've been up to or what would be best for them. Abby/Kane aren't doing much though, they're being wishy washy and hiding things from their people again which obviously doesn't bode well and Pike is playing on that point.

^^Honestly, I feel like this is so important for Clarke and Bellamy to be reunited right now. I feel they need each other more than ever right now. That everything hasn't been the same ever since MW and Clarke leaving. That they balance and complete each other so well that when when don't work as a team, everything is going to fall apart and create more mess. That's how deep this relationship is to me. The fact that I miss their relationship on my screen isn't helping either. I'm really craving some good and real interactions (with real talking). Don't get me wrong, I LOVED episode 2 and it was really the most coerent and well written episodes (All the praises to Aaron who's a major Bellarke shipper). I feel like it has been so long since I felt something like I did in S1 when they were living at the dropship or last season before Bellamy went undercover. I mean WHY DO THEY HAVE TO SEPARATE THEM ALL THE TIME? What good can possibly come out of that? Next thing you know, we'll get a season 4 and Jason will think of another way to have them on each side of the ground. Probably throwing Roan as a love interest since Lexa will be either dead or gone for good.

I feel like it's been AGES since we've seen them side by side, strategising how to protect their people and stay alive and I miss it so, SO much.

The last few episodes have really reduced my level of enthusiasm over their upcoming scenes but I really hope that we get some good BC moments in the next one ... they are each other's voice of reason, plain and simple and the current storyline is indicative of that imbalance when they're not by each other's sides.

You all make some good points. I think we all can agree that Clarke needs to come back to Arkadia. All hell has been breaking loose since she has been at Polis "representing" her people. Polis is a escape for her since she is still broken about MW. But what can be better thing then being with Bellamy, someone that can understand and help her through such a hard time? and of course, she needs to keep him in check and keep him from his spiral downwards.

Like Sarah, I totally agree with the bolded. I get that Clarke is hurting...

She obviously doesn't want to be with her people. Yet she makes the decision for them, when she hasn't been with them for months, to join the coalition. Okay, that wasn't solely her decision - Kane and Abby went along with it. But she pushed that agenda on them. And now she's the one continuing to represent them? How is that she knows what's best for them at this time? Doesn't quite make sense to me. She wants to take care of her people? She needs to be with them.

And I think perhaps she could have reasoned with Bellamy, but she isn't the only option on that front. As has already been mentioned by others, what were Raven and Octavia up to when this was going down?

Clarke being in Polis, the one representing a people she doesn't even know right now, perfectly demonstrates this rift which will be the underlying cause of so much conflict. These people are NOT COMMUNICATING with each other. There's an uproar in Arkadia over the lives taken. But the leaders there want to sit on their butts and let Clarke and the rest of the Grounders handle it. Well what does Clarke know? Meanwhile Clarke is embroiling herself in Grounder politics which she obviously knows little to nothing about and nearly bungles things up such that her people may as well be good as dead.

These people need to quit going around half cocked thinking they know what's best when they only know a fraction of what's really going on.

Oh, dramatic irony...how I loathe you sometimes.

The real crazy part is that ALL OF THIS could have been stopped if Clarke had came back to Arkadia at the end of episode 3. She has spent so much time in Polis, she has no idea what is happening in Arkadia. She doesn't know about Pike and his "lets kill all grounders" mentality. If she had come back Bellamy may not have decided to side with Pike so drastically.
I understand that she in Polis to keep a eye on Lexa, but shouldn't she be keeping a eye on HER people aswell. While she is in Polis, Her mother loses being Chancellor and a dictator took power. While she is off being buddy buddy with Lexa, Arkdia is going through the 7 levels of hell

I don't see the "problem" in Clarke representing Arkadia when it's clear no one went against it and I don't even think they'd want to do it. As you said even Kane and Abby went along with it. Nobody had a problem with it. So why would you? Even if she left, even if she was MIA for 3 months, I believe that out of all the Arkers, she's the one with the most knowledge about eh grounders and the closest to Lexa wo's the one at the head of the coalition. Ok, she might not understand everything about politics but we do know the lenghts she's willing to go to for HER people and for me that's enough. Do I think Kane would have been better? I think it's a role that was more suited for him.

Clarke has been gone for 3 months, not for 5 years. I don't think things changed THAT much.

I do agree though that there is a MAJOR communication problem between these people. Right now they all need to take responsabilities and for each to do whay they do best. And please, can the adults act like...adults?

And are you kidding me? In this show a bajillion things change in ONE WEEK let alone three months.

BTW - there are 9 circles of hell. And I'd hardly say Arkadia is going through all of those. Maybe 3...or 4...okay I could perhaps see an argument for 5.

Bellamy had a big problem with it. He was so disappointed that she stayed with the person that left them to die in front of Mt. Weather. You could see how much he detests Lexa. Imo Clarke only stayed because of her feelings (or whatever that is) for Lexa. It doesn´t help anyone that she is in Polis. Her people need her in Arkadia and she makes Lexa look weak in front of the coalition.
