Why do you think some people considered Ross and Rachel's relationship to be toxic? I mean yeah they did fight and argue a lot but that was mostly after their breakup and their relationship even before they started dating was always a bit combative and argumentative but mostly in a teasing way.
I mean look how sweet and supportive Rachel was when Emily wanted to break up with Ross, and how sad she was when she thought that Ross would no longer be in her life because of Emily. They had the kind of can't live with them, can't live without them relationship and their timing was always bad.
I think what people fail to realize is that when Ross and Rachel were first dating, they were happy and in love and they only break up because of Ross's insecurity and Rachel's dedication to her job. That was when their relationship became strained or as some people say "toxic".
I mean they both liked apothecary tables, they both loved Emma and were great parents to her and both wanted the best for her. They both even found the trick with the straws in the mouth acting like a walrus gag funny. They were more compatible than I think we ever knew. They don't have to be alike to be compatible or to even belong together. What matters is that they love each other and that's the most important thing. As long as you have love, nothing else matters and everything will work out the way it's supposed to.
As far as I'm concerned, Ross and Rachel are still together with probably more kids.

^That's true they were pretty happy together The fighting (and even the jealousy on both side) and hard time were mostly after the break-up when they were trying to get over everything while still having feelings for each other. It was tough for sure They also play the angst so well though. Like I said before, their chemistry was just amazing in every kind of scenes, whenever Ross and Rachel shared sweet, sad, loving or funny moments, it just always worked well

They just had a lot of great moments even when they weren't together And of course all their loving and happy moments while they were actually together were even more great!

Like Mel said, a lot of their issues occurred post breakup. But they always came back together because they cared so much about each other, as friends and more.

I shouldn't ask questions I also have a hard time answering. The "lobster" moment is a definite favorite though.

I have several favorite Ross and Rachel scenes. The prom tape episode and the he's her lobster, Emma's birth, and the I got off the plane scene.

Those are all great scenes. David/Jennifer played off each other so well in those emotional scenes, they're just so into the moment that you believe they're really together and hopelessly in love.
