Mrazek is really hot and cold, he's always been that way, but he can really steal games here or there when he's on.
Oh please girl... I have no idea. lol Ask me any minute detail about the Eagles and I will tell you but I'm a fair weather fan when it comes to hockey and basketball. I do love both sports and the Flyers and the Sixers are my teams, but I know nothing! Although, from watching a few games this season, I have taken a liking to number 28, Claude Giroux, he's pretty cute.

I just seem to remember that the goalie was injured and that was why they parted ways with so much for Mrazek.

I'm that way with the Pistons, I care about them but unless they're winning and winning consistently I'm a huge fair weather fan. I went to a game this year and watched for a quarter before I just went and bar hopped around the arena. Basketball is at the bottom of my interests. I'd probably rank hockey, football, baseball as my top three.

Mine would be football, baseball, hockey, basketball... but U.S. women's soccer above all else. There was a time when I was in college in Philly that I was a HUGE Phillies fan and would go to all the home games and stalk the players. I actually have some good stories. They were in the World Series my senior year which was amazing.

Speaking of college A -Do you know where Marygrove College is?

When I first moved home after living away for college and then working away from Detroit for another four years that was a time when I was still really doing the bar scene and it's so easy to track down the Red Wings/Tigers. I still see them around but more at like brunch spots or dinner than bar nights out.

Marygrove is in Detroit, north Detroit, it's actually not that far from me mileage wise, it's like 20 minutes from me drive time I'd say. There are a lot of smaller private colleges in the area. As far as the area it would be super easy for someone who attends there to live in Royal Oak/Ferndale which are the right out of college up and coming trendy places to live around here. Coincidently also where a lot of the younger athletes here live as well. I should add that they ended their undergrad program last year and it's just graduate programs now, I believe.

I see another person passed in that bus crash, the trainer, Dayna passed away. She was only 24. I'm surprised she survived at all if she was in the front of the bus. So that's 16 dead now, so so so sad.

I wish that Taylor had done a bracket.

How do we feel about BF moving to Chicsgo?

My week's vacation is basically over and it's made me cranky af today. lol I've gotten nothing done except make one of 100 calls I needed to make, return AA to the library two days late, and clear my DVR a little. I haven't even gotten my taxes done yet.

As a lifelong Clevelander, I must point out that we don't take kindly to cracks about what a ****ty place it is. lol WE can (and do) complain about it all the time, but outsiders can't. A couple co-workers were making fun of Howard Stern for whining about how much he hates Cleveland but meanwhile guess where he'll be this weekend. Haha.

KiKi if you make it here this weekend, be warned that the film festival is also going on and probably the Indians (and/or Cavs) are playing too, so downtown is going to be extra crowded. Parking is going to be the real issue. There are lots of new hotels downtown and in surrounding suburbs, so getting a room shouldn't be a problem. Some of the downtown hotels have their own garage space and lots. But if you book one a little outside the city (say Westlake, North Olmsted or Independence), parking should be fine there and you can take an Uber or RTA (the local train service) into the city. RTA usually boosts service on game days. Let me know if I can help with suggestions.

Howard is only in Cleveland this weekend because he has to be! But, being from Jersey, I totally get the "We can make fun our ourselves, but YOU can't," mindset. I've actually heard worse things about Detroit than Cleveland. We actually have a room at the Ritz already. There are about 30 of us going. My friend from Pittsburgh and I are the only hold out for tickets. They've come down a lot already but not enough. I'm giving it until 2pm tomorrow.

I actually have one of my Master's Degrees from Margyrove's online program. It actually was a really great experience. I learned more from their program than I did from my other two schools.

We're very much like that here too, none of us want to be here in Detroit (not really but that's what we say), but we'll defend it to no end. With that being said, downtown has made a giant turn around, a lot of the city has. There are of course bad areas but it's not what it once was. Just the sheer size of Detroit...there's a lot of undeveloped land now, neighborhoods where one or two houses still exists and the rest is just a field... you can fit (square miles wise) San Francisco, Manhattan, and Boston in the city of Detroit. It's huge.

I attempted to rescue a dog today. I was driving down a busy street and saw this dog really close to the road. I turned around and went back into the neighborhood where he was headed, another lady stopped as well. He was this french bull dog, adorable. He ran from us but then stopped in the back yard of this new construction house and I tried to entice him with a bag of cheez-its I had just picked up while getting gas. He came to me, tried to grab him but he just wouldn't let me pick him up. Then he starts walking to the front of the house and one of the contractors is like, 'Oh yeah, this dog lives here, he must have gotten out." Hey, buddy, I'm sure the owners of the house would be thrilled to know their dog was wandering down a neighborhood street and inches away from walking into a 45 mph road.

DFW international airport is larger than Manhattan. Just one of our airports!

Yay! I hope it's a blast!

Downtown Cleveland has had a renaissance in recent years, too. There are lots of restaurants and clubs, and a really pretty, multimillion-dollar redo of Public Square (the city center). The actual neighborhoods are still a mess though, except for a few trendy areas like Tremont and Gordon Square.

I just got Hamilton tickets! I'd been in the virtual queue for FOUR hours and calling repeatedly but I finally just got through by phone! Yay! It's here in August!

I haven't seen Hamilton.... definitely on my list.

Hot Summer Nights
Timmy's new movie that he actually filmed a year before CMBYN. I wonder what took so long to have it come out. Not what I was expecting but it does look entertaining. If anyone sees anything about screenings, please let me know. You guys are up on Hollywood more than me. He was about 19 when he filmed this, he looks so young.
