General Hospital Discussion: Can Aiden's paternity just come out already, Guza?!
Continuing the discussion at the end of the last thread, GH looks like it could be on the chopping block for Katie Couric's talkshow. Not 100% done yet, ABC is toying with a few ideas with timeslots.

I would think 4 o'clock would be better because it will have a void from Oprah's departure.

According the ABCSID this is the tricky part, the 4 PM timeslot isn't owned by ABC. ABC owns the GH one, something about the affiliates owning 4 PM.

I'll wait and see what happens with this, but I think it's more likely that Couric will end up replacing one of the two shows replacing AMC and OLTL, since this proposed Couric talk show wouldn't start until Sept. 2012 anyway.
Don't see why they don't put Couric on Good Morning America. Would make more sense. But like I said in the news thread after AMC and OLTL were canned, ABC is dropping the ball when it comes to making money back on the soaps. Would it hurt ABC to make a Best of Luke and Laura DVD set or a DVD set of their most popular characters/actors/actresses? __________________

We already have plenty of talk shows.
 We don't need another. Of course we don't need anymore cooking or reality show either.  __________________

Reality tv is taking over. I hadn't hoped that GH might be next but it doesn't surprise me. I do think B&B will be next to go. It would be nice if Lifetime or something could pick up these soaps. Also I know it will probably never happen but all the soaps released on dvd would be a dream come true!

ABC Soaps In Depth is reporting that Rebecca Herbst is out for two weeks while she recovers from viral meningitis and Martha Madison(ex-Belle, Days) will fill in for Becky as Liz.

Aww I hope Becky gets better soon! And I HOPE they don't have Martha do the reveal scenes, it would make me sad.
But LOL JC was Shawn on DOOL and KS/MM were the two Belles. Weird, very weird.  |

Awkward moment is when MM joins to play Liz on GH while Kristen Storms is still there and they both used to play Belle on Days and dated JC's character.
