Alex, you really need to rewatch this show.
basically if you like the person, it's cute, if you don't, it's creepy.  Barney got obsessed with finding out who Robin's song PS I Love You was about that he went all the way to Canada to interrogate her ex-boyfriends, found her much music episode and fought Alan Thicke. he goes "I'm a total Dahmer" then she says that quote in the gif. __________________

 I remember but you should still rewatch a bit. I'm not sure about Ted saying that Marshall's song would have been creepy if Lily wasn't in to him though since for me I would probably think it was nice but just let guy down easy,  Barney gets a little Canadian in that episode when talking to her exes, it's kinda funny. __________________
