Does it ever touch on her name? Like why she is named America? For example is Illea in the place where America use to be, I got that feeling from her area being called Carolina.

Illea is most of North America from what I recall. In either the pilot script of the actual novel they go on to say that America was named for the original country, although yes like you said, why not just name her Carolina since that is where they are from.
I hope in the series they call her "Mere" like they sometimes did in the book because that name is just so much better than her full one. I almost laughed everytime someone mentioned it. __________________

The CW is on my hate list today. Not only did they cancel The Secret Circle, but they picked up 5 shows, and not one of them being The Selection.

I'm still waiting for the official upfronts confirmation about everything, there was some "news" about shows that ABC picked up that was totally wrong and everyone took it for the gospel truth up until ABC officially announced some pick ups.
