all book lovers

Well, my two weeks of vacation officially ended this week But I did have a nice time on my break....

This is what I did

And I intend to do more of that once I get back into the swing of things at work. The first week or so of the semester, especially for a summer semester, is crazy busy But soon, I hope *crosses fingers*, I will be home by noon or so and lounging by the pool

I hope all of you are doing awesome for each of you.

I will try to catch up more later and stay caught up with all of you

~ Carol

^Sounds like you had fun! I'm pretty jealous. My vacations pretty much consist of chasing my kids around and reapplying sunblock! I hope you can lounge by the pool a little for me!

Well, I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their summer. I'm taking a couple summer classes but am still having a good time. Is anyone doing anything special or taking any fun trips?

I know how that works. I got a job working as youth director up at my church and vacation bible school starts today. I'm stressing out, thinking of a thousand more things I need, lol, but, fingers crossed, it will go off without a hitch.

My SO and I took our first home buyer education class Sunday and we submitted the application and all of the paperwork for the matched savings program, so we should get approval soon and start the account. The housing counselors will work closely with us and the housing partnership even has a non-profit realtor, so that will eliminate a lot of the stress of looking for a house.

I'm not going on vacation at all this year, but I've been going to my SO's mountain bike races, which takes place all over New York and New England. We will be going to the NORBA Nationals next weekend and after my SO's race, we will stay and watch the pros. My SO's friend got to see Lance Armstrong there one year and some of his other friends have met a lot of pro mountain bikers there. It should be fun.

I hope it ends up going alright! Our VBS is in 2 weeks, and I'm just a group leader, so I'm not the one doing the stressing. I just help the kids.

Well, last night went really well. I had 35 kids which is more than we've ever had before and I'm supposed to get several more tonight. So everything went well. I was a group leader last year and that was a ton of fun but before that I had never done VBS so I went in blind for the most part.

Soz I remember you talking about your SO and the bike races so at least you get to do some traveling. I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing. I'm going to Nashville, TN sometime to see an Egyptian Art Exhibit and then a friend and I want to take a road trip towards the end of the summer, possibly two depending on our financial situation.

*sniff* I have to have my gallbladder taken out in a few weeks. I am really nervous, but the surgeon said that if I don't do it I could pass a gallstone that could block my other organs and cause major problems, so I really have no choice. It is an outpatient surgery, so I will be home the day I get it done, the bad news is that I can't work for a week OR pick up my kids. That's going to be really hard for me!

This will be my 5th year being a group leader, so I love it. I love just seeing the kids light up through the week.

I'm sorry. A woman in my church is going through the same thing. I'm sure you'll be alright though. I know someone else that has been through the surgery. I hope everything goes well for you. Enjoy a week with your feet kicked back and a stack of good books beside you.

~Unfaithful~ Good luck with the surgery.

Angel, we usually take a weekend vacation but since we have cats and no one to cat sit, we can't go away for too long.

I went to this race on Saturday and it was so amazing to see the pros I used to watch on OLN when they showed mountain biking: http://www.velonews.com/race/mtn/articles/10048.0.html My SO raced on the same course and he came in seventh. He moved up two spots from last year, so if he moves up two more spots next year, he will be on the podium. Next year, Mount Snow hosts the National Championships and my SO always gets invited, but they are usually on the West Coast, so we haven't gotten to go.

Then last night, I went to see Peaches, Bauhaus, and Nine Inch Nails. I'm a huge Peter Murphy and Love and Rockets fan, so I jumped at the chance to see them in their original band, Bauahus. I used to be a big NIN fan too, but I've lost interest a bit in the past few years. It was nice to hear some old NIN favorite songs live though, even though the crowd was obnoxious.

I'm hungry right now. I know that's quite random but I've had a corn dog, three sugar cookies, and hot chocolate today and that's it, I need calories.
I also tired, but I've had an awesome amount of time to read lately since my class ended recently so until I start back to school, in about a week and a half, I'll have a great chance to catch up some. I'm doing that 50 book challange and just finished with number 20...whoops.
