Classic Comics Saturday
--- Those ’70s Comics: 842 Inspired by episode 511 - “The Girl I Love” --- Comments: I gave Eric and Donna a peaceful resolution in this episode, the same way the show did for Jackie and Hyde. Plus, fun with lasers. --- Laser texture or background 2 Red Laser1 - stock and Red laser4 - stock Blue Laser Texture 1 --- Colleen, thank you! __________________

Classic Comics Sunday
--- Those ’70s Comics: 843 Inspired by episode 512 - "Misty Mountain Hop" --- Comments: The show made no mention whatsoever whether Jackie had family beyond her parents who could be her guardians or if her parents had designated godparents (or other trusted people) to be her guardians. She is devoid of family, minus her jam-faced grandmother, because the writers didn’t bother to fill in that part of her life. They also wanted the storyline of Jackie moving in with Donna. Realistically, however, Jackie very likely would’ve had aunts and uncles and godparents who would’ve taken care of the issues her father’s incarceration and her mother’s abandonment left her with. Other characters, like Hyde, wouldn’t. Jackie, with what we do know of her upbringing and background, would. So I decided to fill in that blank a little. I gave her an aunt named Elizabeth (who is mentioned in a few of my fanfics, too) and an explanation why her aunt can’t help her clear out the Burkhart’s ski cabin. I remember quite well drawing this comic. It’s one of those that has stuck with me over the years because of Jackie’s immense resilience after an understandable panic attack. She’s only seventeen and forced to deal with adult problems that she didn’t cause. She fights through her fear and gets herself the support she needs. I also wanted to make sure Hyde remained real!Hyde on the inside during this episode (and storyline) while retaining many of the choices he makes in the show’s version. He’s a protector of the vulnerable and of Jackie in particular. Jackie has kept the truth of her situation from him during many comics previous to this one, and he’s grown suspicious but doesn’t push (too much). He believes Jackie will tell him the truth when she feels ready or comfortable. Problem is, she’s too much like him (or she’s become that way by season 5). __________________

--- Those ’70s Comics: 844 Inspired by episode 512 - “Misty Mountain Hop” --- Comments: Filling in some gaps in this episode and showing more definitively than the show’s version of episode that Hyde does, indeed, care about Jackie and what’s happening in her life. --- Colleen, thank you! __________________
