Thats how I feel too about the Tyra storyline. We already have had five episode this season, there is only eight left and to be honest, tyra is not my favorite character and her storyline is eating up too much airtime *sigh*

I've heard negative things about JD from some people regarding this episode. Maybe tonight we'll see who he really is __________________

Some good stuff this episode... not my favorite episode of the season for sure... but I might be comparing it to the awesomeness that was last episode...
I still don't like Cash... even if Tyra thinks (in this episode at least) that he is a sensitive guy who brought her to a barn to watch a new baby colt being nuzzled by its mother. Some good Tami/Tyra scenes, though. Matt/Matt's Mother/Grandma Saracen continues to be good... Grandma is wondering what's up with the grape jelly and why the hell Shelby isn't buying her the good cookies... there was a nice moment between Matt and his mom near the end of the episode. Elsewhere, the scene between Matt and Coach when Coach had to tell him that he would be QB2 was beautifully acted by both KC and ZG... especially when Grandma and Shelby showed up and Grandma went on about how Coach Taylor can walk on water... heartbreaking... Jason/Tim/Herc/Billy deciding to flip Buddy's old house with the copper wire money was pretty good... I enjoyed the lame catch phrase Tim picked up from Buddy and then repeated 800 times to everyone... LMAO... something about rats... it was pretty funny. Julie gets a tattoo... Tami and Eric both freak out.... the 2nd scene where they are in Julie's bedroom attempting to talk "calmly" about said tattoo was hilarious... I think Eric lasted a total of 5 seconds before he lost his cool... Tami lasted longer, but by the end of it all was going to drag Julie's butt to San Antonio to get it removed. All culminating in a really great Tami/Julie mother/daughter talk on the side of the road. Other notes: * They haven't mentioned it yet, but I'm pretty durn sure Gracie Belle has been abducted by Aliens... * I'm not a huge fan of Jason's baby mamma, Erin... maybe it's her acting style. * Landry and Lyla each got one scene, separately (I don't think Lyla even talked in hers), Landry's included Matt and an 80s power ballad full blast in his car... pretty funny. * Still didn't get much with JD McCoy (except for the football sequences)... next week looks like we'll get more though. For those who can't access the DirecTV website... I uploaded next week's episode promo on my YouTube account: FNL Episode 6 Promo __________________

Thanks Whitney. I'm super excited to see Jason and the Tami/Tyra scenes. The Matt stuff sounds heartbreaking.

This felt a lot like a filler episode. Not enough football, too much useless conflict. Like really, the tattoo thing was cute but the freak out over Julie going down the wrong path and following Tyra down that path felt like it was a transplant story from season 1 and seemed kind of unjustified, Julie has calmed down since her season 2 antics so I'm not quite sure where Tami's season 1 repeat worry came from all of a sudden. A tattoo is a stupid move but she's really not acting out any other way...
I could do without Cash all together, honestly. Buddy just becomes more and more of a jack ass, he's desperate to sell the house and then won't sell it to the Riggins boys and Jason, and he's willing to screw over Jason just because he's holding a grudge against Tim for having his daughter. I get he doesn't want Tim to be his grandkids dad but really...Jason did a good job of selling Buddy Garrity. Herc's fascination/excitement over the baby was adorable. And I loved Herc/Jason/Billy and Tim together, how can you not? Those four together could be its own hour of TV. NBC needs to update it's store with some new Dillon Panther merchandise and get that faded number 33 shirt that Tim was wearing in the Garrity house on the market stat. I'd buy it. |

i thought the ep was fantastic yet again... it's not season one caliber, but still, spot on... besides herc + porn + doll head on pencil = a good time
how much do i love scott? seriously ... no, scott/tim/billy/herc were the best part of the ep by far... i laughed the whole way through... i'm glad we finally got some lightheartedness... and buddy, sigh... he's just right their on my sht list again... i thought him resenting the lyla/tim pairing would be fun... i forgot who he roots for, so he fails, majorly... and tim and jason!!! gah! only one small scene, but total love! i adore them, always will tyra throwing away her goals for cash is rather pathetic... i don't like her at all this season... she had so much potential and now she's back to putting up with some lame ass guy who is a drug addict, NEXT... the sad part is, is that it's all going to blow up in her face and i'm sure certain people won't be so forgiving, as they shouldn't be... tami always only helping out tyra bugs too... i'm sure that will never change, but ok i feel bad for matt, i truly do... but come on! he knows how they play the game... i've never felt matt was all about football and he shouldn't be... i see more potential for him, but it's understandable that he'd feel betrayed... and coach was really trying to make it work... he put everything on the line for matt... that's more than some would do... i wish matt could see that, but alas, his hurt feelings are blurring the bigger picture... oh and his mom is sorta growing on me too... i think she's expecting too much too soon and that never works out, but looks like she's around for the long haul julie and her whole tattoo debacle was rather lame... but at least it gave us some taylor family fun!... i wish they told us why she got it or what it meant... and throwing tyra in the mix was stupid... i mean the whole she's a bad influence has been done... tami can't honestly still view tyra that way and be as supportive as she is... it felt almost hypocritical that she had both povs i swear to god i thought matt and landry were gonna start singing in the car! |

I loved this episode a lot. Aside from Cash, he needs to go asap.
Jason/Tim/Herc/Billy for the win. OMG I loved everything that came out of their mouths. I felt really bad for Jason by the end, I think Erin should have definitely talked to him more about what she was thinking before just throwing all that on him. It was awesome getting so much Jason in this one, I found myself missing him more watching, which probably doesn't make any sense. I feel bad for Matt, but not surprised what happened. I loved his line about how serious Grandma Saracen takes her cookies. I thought the scene at the end with his mom was nice, I still don't trust her completely but I'm really enjoying her scenes. I liked Tami and Julie's talk on the side of the road, and all of the Eric/Tami/Julie stuff. It's nice getting some family scenes again. Quote:

Thanks Natasha! Like others have said, this felt like a filler in parts to me too. Too high expectations that's my problem! The tattoo scene made me giggle because it brought back memories of the first time my parents caught a glimpse of my younger brother's. To say they weren't best pleased is the under estimate of the century, there was the six week eyebrow piercing too. Loved the Tami/Julie talk and a little Eric/Tami backstory! I loved the Taylor family actually interacting. No Gracie Belle again - come on show!! I haven't an issue with her not being on screen, just acknowledge her presence! At least, there was a high chair in the preparing dinner scene, I suppose! Loved the Matt/Coach scene and the train whistling in the background. They both killed me in that scene. Grandma Saracen - loved how animated she gets over her biscuits. It's a recurring theme what with tapoica in season 1. She just rocks every scene she's in. It's a gran thing to never stop offering guests food, etc. Her little eye roll as Matt introduced Coach to his mother. Loved Matt/Landry together in the car and in practice together at the end. Liked the return of Jason and Herc. I liked the picture of Jason with baby, Noah, on the wall at a height reachable for them. Whatever you say abut this show, it always gets the small things right. I really expected either Buddy or Jason to mention Lyla in that heart to heart conversation, the fact that at one point Jason and Lyla were engaged. Tyra's mobile in class but we got ours consficated until the end of the day if it went off in class. detention to those caught! I don't particularly like meth dealer guy (Appreciate your business, Sergeant Riggins guy from season 1, right?) but in a small town like Dillon, I imagine there aren't so many shady guys to sell copper wire to! __________________
