^ That's the vibe I got from the scene. Shawn was a wild card for Maya since, like you said, she didn't know how he felt about her until he told her. That's why I think she was so touched/it meant a lot to her for him to tell her that he was extremely fond of her.

^ Ah, that's an interesting idea. I didn't think that Shawn was putting himself out there. I always thought that Maya had been more guarded and had tried her best not to get attached to Shawn, just in case he didn't stick around. How do you think Shawn put himself out there?

I just think it wasn't easy for him to tell people how much he cared about them, & he was always kinda worried about being rejected. Even though he knew Maya cared a lot about him, I think it was still tricky for him to make a declaration like that first

^ Oh, yeah! That does make a lot of sense. I can see that being a huge moment for Shawn to make that declaration, hoping that Maya would receive it the way he intended his declaration to be received. It warms my heart that they felt the same way about each other.

I really love that scene! Shawn didn't want to make Maya a promise if he wasn't completely sure he could keep it. That's the kind of relationship they have. They will always be straight with each other.
