^ It really was. To be honest, I would have been perfectly fine if the show had ended with Shawn and Katy not married and Shawn and Maya as father-daughter without it being official. They already gave me the vibe that they would have been in each other's lives.

^ Right? I guess I'm a big fan of characters acting like they are closely tied and in each other's lives without there being official labels put on them. The Hunter-Hart clan definitely gave me that vibe.
 There is still a part of me that likes that, with Shawn and Katy's marriage, Maya has the reassurrance that Shawn will be in her life forever.  __________________

I'm kind of in between - like with Shawn officially adopting Maya, it was sweet, but at the end of the day, it's just a piece of paper. Shawn was already 100% committed to being in her life forever, making it legal doesn't change a person's feelings one way or another imo

^ That's how I feel as well. It was great seeing the happiness on their faces that it was official, but I didn't think it was really needed. I already knew that Shawn loved Maya like a daughter, even before he married Katy.

^ Exactly. Maybe the reason that TPTB made things so official for the Hunter-Harts is that the show was on Disney and it made sense to have everything wrapped up nicely with a bow.

^ It's definitely a possibility. Whatever the reasoning behind TPTB's decision to make things official with the Hunter-Harts, thinking about them as a family warms my heart.
