^ I love that that moment left an impression on them, that they didn't brush it under the rug and never think about it again. They both knew that something big had happened, that things had changed between them, and nothing was going to be the same again.

Maybe TPTB were planning on having Lucas and Maya talked about it down the line...but the show ended before TPTB could make it happen.

Me too. If there was a moment that definitely needed a proper conversation, it was that campfire scene.

Yeah, all that other drama needed to get out the way first, before Maya & Lucas had cleared their minds enough & stopped worrying about other people so that they could actually explore what they felt for each other...

^ Exactly. They needed to get to that point, and the only way that was going to happen was with time. I think time would have made them realize that there was something there between them.

^ I agree. Some of my favorite ships are ships that have the build-up over a few seasons. Lucas and Maya definitely had a great beginning to the build-up, but the middle and end were left unfinished. I was really banking on their middle coming about during their last two years of high school.
