I do wonder how differently it might have been if the writers knew that s3 would be their last...

I do wonder if they would have written season three differently if they had known it was going to be their last.

Me three. When PTB know that their show is going to end at the end of a season, then they can wrap things up nicely. When a show is cancelled, there is a feeling of unfinished business for TPTB. I think TPTB probably would have given us more Lucas/Maya moments if they knew that season three was going to be the final season.

I agree, I think that they did their best with the finale in a 'just in case' kind of way, but the rest of the season would have been written differently imo.

^ Oh, yes. I think TPTB probably would have dropped a few more significant Lucas/Maya moments if they knew that season three was going to be the end of the story.

^ Exactly. What did they even get in the finale? That one look between them when Maya and Riley left Topanga's? That wasn't enough.

No, not at all

Lucas also looking sad when Maya was saying that Farkle was the one always protecting them... I think that had some meaning behind it

^ Oh, right. That was the moment where Maya kissed Farkle on the cheek and Lucas looked particularly zeroed in on that interaction ...right?

Yeah, that's the one

I think that hurt Lucas because he wanted to be the guy that protected them - but he'd hurt them, especially Maya

^ I can definitely see that. When you consider the group, you immediately think of Lucas as the protector of the group. I think, with time, Maya will see that too. I'm actually drawing a blank about how he hurt the group (especially Maya) though. How did he do that?

With the triangle. It caused them all pain, but Maya really came out of it the worst off

Despite what Lucas tried to do, he's hurt Maya. I would have liked to see him think about that a little more...

^ Oh, right. It makes me sad that Maya was hurt by the triangle.

I wanted that too. It wasn't handled the way I thought it would be handled. It was really unsatisfying. I think they were going to revisit that one day.

Me too. I mean, that whole resolution of the triangle was so stupid, I can't accept that that was really meant to be the end of it

^ Right? I really believe that we were going to see a Lucas/Maya relationship at some point in the series. The fact that we were deprived of that eventuality disappoints me.
