Oh, yes. The more adamant a character is that something is not going to happen, the more likely that it's going to happen.

It is, especially with Maya who was just so adamant, but obviously actually got on pretty well with Lucas, it seems like foreshadowing

^ It did feel that way to me too. Maya could have shot down the possibility of her and Lucas without going to the extreme. The fact that she said that it wasn't never going to happen told me that it was only a matter of time before that changed.

Plus, it also felt like that's what she was trying to tell herself too, like she was keeping her hopes as far down as they could go

^ That could be the case. I think that she didn't let herself think about the possibility that there was something there between them, and her 'never gonna happen' response was her first reaction to the idea.

Aw, he liked the 'ha-hurs' and the nickname!

He knew that Maya wasn't going to stop with either choice, so he didn't fight it...and after a while, he realized that he liked them.

Yeah, I mean he was always smiling - I don't know how some people willfully ignored that & thought that Lucas & Maya genuinely didn't like each other

& I think that she knew, otherwise I don't think she would have continued with it

It did look that way. She couldn't have missed his reactions to her little teases (i.e. calling him those nicknames and 'ha-hur'ing in his face whenever she could).

Exactly. She even acknowledged it when she recognized that he enjoyed the little game that they were always playing. =p
