It made the entire story so freaking difficult, lol, not the least of which because they didn't bother to find anyone Mischa had an iota of chemistry with (or even could tolerate, lol, since she looked like she wanted to shank him in most scenes) and so it was hard to even see what the problem was? Like, Kaitlin would say she could see what was going on, and Ryan would see them and look all butthurt, and it was like "WHAT DO YOU SEE???" Because I see a girl who would rather throw herself out the closed window of the top floor of a skyscraper than ever let this guy touch her.

I'm still trying to remember why Marissa was so hated during the Oliver-arc.

If only The OC aired during the Tumblr generation where everyone gets clocked for bashing female characters.

Because the show didn't do a good enough job of showing the side of characters who weren't Ryan in that arc. I think Josh's INTENTION was that Ryan was right, but going about proving it in a borderline bat**** crazy way. And I could see it, lol, but a lot of people couldn't.

But yeah, if The OC had happened during the Tumblr era, at least Marissa haters would have been checked better.

That's true. And Marissa ended up just getting shamed for being kind and trusting.

Essentially, she was the victim in that scenario, but somehow was painted as the villain.

I thought that whole storyline was pointless . I mean the whole storyline was dumb I mean not only for her to get bash but the storyline itself just stalled everything else

I thought Theresa was kinda pointless too. It was too early in the show to already start pulling the characters apart, imo.
