Speaking of Marissa, Mischa tweeted a link to a pic of her ben and adam for the 10th anniversary. Awesome!!!!!!!!!

Respect to her for doing that, because man. Usually I'm all for "respect what put you on the map", but in Mischa'a case, she was unceremoniously fired because she was told she had no fans and firing her was the only way to save the show, that was ass-backwards wrong and instead the ratings plummeted without her, and Josh and co hung her out to dry when she was accused of quitting and "killing" the show as a result. I would not blame her for being bitter. LOL.

I don't remember that gif, Liz! Definitely gonna use it in the updated OP.

I'd be less bitter if they took some responsibility, but no, just let everyone think it was entirely Mischa's decision to leave.

Marissa was the show for me. So... Goodbye The OC!
Now it's past but I felt myself insulted with that stupid decision.

And yeah, it's the two things combined that get me. They fired her because they thought she had no fans, and they were wrong. Fine. But freakin' OWN UP to that. Because I remember that Josh WAS pretty clear in his first couple interviews (probably done before the episode aired, or RIGHT after) that he HAD fired her. It was when the backlash started, and especially after the ratings tanked HARD, that he began to be more evasive, and let people think she quit.

One thing I did appreciate is that he made it clear that even if she was fed up with some of the storylines (and who could blame her), she wasn't the only one on the cast with complaints. Because I'm sorry, watch the S3 gag reel and especially the scene where Adam goes way off script regarding the Johnny storyline and TRY to tell me Ben and and Adam didn't find that **** ridiculous too, lol.

ETA: who is Tate even talking about in this interview?

He says "he" so it's not one of the girls, but regardless, all four main cast members had done films at this point. Brody had done several, we all know Mischa's film resume, Rachel had done a couple, and Ben had at least done Junebug and maybe one other one. And even if he isn't talking about one of the core four- which he's indicating he is- the only other actor I can think of in the episode he directed is Ryan Donowho, who had a fairly extensive indie resume IIRC- it was the television medium he wasn't familiar with (hence his constantly missing his mark in a fairly obvious way, lol). I swear, Tate and his trash talk. It just gets more and more irritating.

What is Tate even on about. It's like he's personally offended as if their actions had impact on him. Nobody cared about Marissa's dad, they cared even less about the actor playing him. Could have been any white guy. Take a seat, Tate.

Also, remember how badly he did, lol? That episode was terribly directed. Remember the shot of Random Jimmy in Marissa's flashbacks about TREY? I don't even care if Ben or Adam DID want be doing something else- who could blame them? Ben and Mischa deserved Oscars for making though that ridiculous Johnny car crash.

It's just weird that he's a man double their age gossiping about them.

And he's doing it in one breath and talking about how Ben is his volleyball buddy the next, lol. I feel like that next match might be awkward.

Also, Adam didn't seem that surprised by Tate's attitude in that show, which makes me think he might have been a jerk onset.
